Names like Jennifer, Sarah, Louise, Nicola, Katy were popular for girls.

LinoleumBlownapart · 10/12/2017 18:03

We only had 18 in the class and not more than 150 kids in the whole school so no repeats that I know of. There was a Gemma in my class and when I got to secondary 3 more in my year. So I think possibly Gemma, a couple of Melissas and Lauras in secondary too. Stephen, Ben, Philip and Richard seemed popular with the boys. Late 70's.

We had Nicola , Nikki , Nicole , and two Nicholas all in my form class. ( all 1969/70 birth dates). A few Natalies and Samanthas too. The boys were all called David!

manicinsomniac · 10/12/2017 18:34

In Secondary school my year group had:
Laura X 7, Sarah X 6, Emma X 5, Rebecca X 3, Lyndsey X 3
Daniel X 5, Andrew X 4, Ryan X 4, David X 3, Chris X 3

From a year group of about 120

My second primary school was small - one form entry with mixed age classes too - I can't think of many doubles (2 Rebeccas and 2 Andrews I think). Though we had Carrie-Ann and Kerry-Anne. And Sean and Shane. But no other actual duplicates, I don't think.

First primary as huge but I was only 8 when I moved away and can't remember many of the names. Quite a lot of Rebeccas and Hayleys I think.

3 boys named Joshua
3 girls named Emma
2 girls named Bronté
2 girls named Shaney/Shani (both pronounced the same!)
2 girls and 1 boy named Brodie

Wait4nothing · 10/12/2017 18:50

There were 4 Laura’s in my primary year group - only 20 kids! Even more at secondary.

PenelopePickle · 10/12/2017 18:51

I went to a very small primary school but there were multiple jack and toms in my class, as well as 2 Amelias.

tinypop4 · 10/12/2017 18:54

Rebecca, Katie, Amy, Laura.

whyareusernamessodifficult · 10/12/2017 19:01

Emma/Emily, Melissa and Taylor were all really popular for girls and Jack and Christopher for boys. There was quite a lot of Ewan/Euans about my age but only one in my year at my school.

Highpeak · 10/12/2017 21:06

More Emmas (I'm one of them, although my middle name isn't Louise) always been lots at any place I've worked too.

School had lots of Claires and Sarahs. Born 1978.

BewareOfTheToddler · 10/12/2017 21:13

Yes, all the middle names for girls at my school were Louise, Marie or Elizabeth (though met a number of girls with Clare as a middle name at university).
