This must be a joke, surely?

I was looking through the Telegraph birth announcements for name inspiration and to try and gauge popularity of names etc. I came across a recent announcement of the birth of a baby with a perfectly normal name with siblings named Maggot and Compost Shock. Surely nobody could name their children Maggot and Compost?

I would imagine they're either pets, or kids nicknames.

babynamelol · 07/12/2017 19:08

Their last name is also nature related!

I didn't think that they could be pets, makes sense I suppose.

ladybirdsaredotty · 07/12/2017 19:12

Haven't we had this thread before?

It's not unusual. My DC are called cowpat and flea.

HitManHitMan · 07/12/2017 19:43

I actually really like flea as a name. ConfusedGrin

I really want to know what the new baby's nickname is now.

It'll be Margot and Cosmo, and an in joke!

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 08/12/2017 04:04

Posh people are allowed have these in jokes. Plebs wouldn't be indulged to the same degree.

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 08/12/2017 04:07

Jago known as Compost and Margot known as Maggot...

Urgh.

Tossers.

And little Ivo will presumably be known as Pustule? Dry rot? Woodlouse?

Battleax · 08/12/2017 04:18

Strange people. It's almost as though the aristocracy is inbred and eccentric Smile

PrincessoftheSea · 08/12/2017 04:32

Why would they need to mention nick names in the birth announcement? Confused

MyOtherProfile · 08/12/2017 04:37

How do you pronounce Jago? I'm imagining it as Iago but maybe the j is hard?

Battleax · 08/12/2017 04:39

YAR-go

Friolero · 08/12/2017 05:02

I think it's Jay-go

HuskyMcClusky · 08/12/2017 05:02

Jago, Margot and Ivo?

Okay, then. Grin

ivenoideawhatimdoing · 08/12/2017 05:17

God OP, how could you been such a nam-ist??

You're upsetting my little Absess
