Unusual boys and girls names please

I am desperate to find an unusual name for our baby (sex unknown). We both like unusual names and as a teacher, I like the idea of a name that no one else in my child class will have.

DH and I simply can't agree. He loves names like Koda for a boy (I hate it) whereas I like names like Huxley, Auden etc. I loved Jenson but is becoming quite popular now.

Girls we simply can't find one we like. I love Paisley and he likes Peyton.

Please just throw names out there, open to anything unusual. I'm aware these probably aren't everyone's cup of tea when it comes to names

How about Kerensa (f). It is Cornish and means Love. There are hardly any about. what ever you decide on please please think about how it will look on a CV in 20 years time. I know it is shallow but I have worked in a lot of roles where people have been filtered by name!!

I ecently met a young man named Bede, as in the Venerable Bede, grandfather x heaps of the English language. "What a great name. You could bring it back into fashion from the 8th century," I said.

I do think Bede is a cool successor to Noah, Jacob et al!

Girls:

Esther
Aster
Tamar/Tamara
Bryndis (Icelandic, but works well in English).

Happpydays · 27/11/2017 06:12

I think Vada / Veda is great Smile

Iwantallthesleep · 27/11/2017 06:46

Oooh I 2nd Veda/ vada !

manicinsomniac · 28/11/2017 00:24

I like Veda and, on a girl, would think of My Girl rather than Darth.

There's also Vashti, Venus, Venice and Varya if you like the V sound
