Regan or Rory?

Rory. Regan is a girls name (in my head) and Gazza named his kid Regan so i think 'wannabe wag' when i hear that kind of name,

Regan is a girl's name

Regan makes me think of King Lear (it's the name of 1 of his daughters).

Does your husband still like the name or is he having regrets too?

That's why I said it's a girl's name. Regan and Goneril.

Definitely Rory.

Interestingly, Regan has been used for more boys than girls in all of the last 20 years, according to ONS data. I thought it was a girl's name too (I've only known one in my entire life, and she is a woman), but boys heavily outweigh girls.

Last year 111 boys were named Regan (the 395th most popular boys name) and only 14 girls were given the name (the 2008th most popular girls name).

Rory

Rory definitely, Regan makes me think of king lears daughter.

I'm not terribly keen on either name but I would've gone for Rory. Regan is a girls name and reminds me of The Exorcist.

I rather like Regan, and I used to teach a boy one.
I think it sounds more masculine than feminine, regardless of its origins.

And I hate Rory!

I wanted Rory for my newborn DS but DP wasn’t having it either. I love the name we eventually chose for him but still think he looks like a Rory!

Rory is a good strong Scottish name. Love it.

I would've picked Rory, but although Regan is more a girl's name to me - due to the Shakespeare evil sister character - I think it's OK as a boy's name.
