My dh really likes this name. I like it but don't really like giving nicknames without a longer name. Is it okay to just use Tess? I really dislike Tessa and Teresa, are there other names it could be short for?

Tess just as it is. Best. Name.Ever.

Personally, I'd go with a longer name on the b.c . It doesn't sound particularly professional..more like a cats name otherwise (sorry) ..bess, tess, jess etc :-s

I always think Tess sounds like it’s short for Contessa. You need a longer surname to carry it off I think.

Just Tess, beautiful name.

I love the name Tess Smile

Was overruled on this, it was my top name. Great name.

I do like Esther actually but not as much as Tess.

I'm not wild about Tess as a stand-alone name, really. It feels like it has to be short for something, though it's nice as a short form. I would like a longer/more formal name on the BC. And then there's poor Tess of the D'Ubervilles, who did not have a happy time of things.

Poor ole Alec. :(

My dearly loved and much missed Nana was Tess - her actual name was Esther, though it was only ever used by those who didn't know her.

Love it. Tess of the D'Urbervilles is one of my favourite books.
