Just posted this in pregnancy, not realising there was a section for baby names.
Please help!!

Il never find a name I love enough!
So here are the names I like, to give you a clue..but they come with reasons why I won't be using them.
Alfie-too common and reminds me of Alfie moon
Archie-reminds me of Archie Mitchell
not an eastenders addict I swear
Albert- I like albert but Hate "albie" and I just know people will shorten it.
Barney- reminds me too much of the dinosaur
And the same with barnabus plus I think that sounds a bit jokey? Sorry
The front runner at the moment is Rupert.
So I like old names I think, think old peoples home register and hit me with your favourites!

Going to completely out myself here but I have a Raymond (ray) you never get any other children called that these days. Shout it in a park and get a few old men look round but that's it.

If you like Albert could you preempt Albie and call him Bertie for short? I would have thought Bertie would be more likely anyway?

I really dislike nicknames or short versions of a name. If I choose a name it's because I like it and want him to be called it, imo Albert and Bertie are completely different names

Rex (oh wouldn't it be luvvverleeeeeeee)

SeamusMacDubh · 25/10/2017 21:36

I've got a Bob (though his name is Robert on BC) and if I'd had another DS we would have called him Royston.

I'm not keen on Rupert (you know he'll likely be called Roo?).

Other names I can think of:

Geoffrey/Jeffrey
Colin
Martin
Charles
Alan
Malcolm
Paul
Lionel
John
Harold (could shorten to Hal rather than Harry)
William
Bertram
Andrew
Peter
