He’s a puppy! Reddish fur, white face. Half Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, half poodle.

Which is the best name?

Rupert or Rufus.

Anyway he’s very cute!

Mrsknackered · 25/10/2017 15:53

You have great taste!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/10/2017 16:14

Have you named him yet OP ?

Doggington · 26/10/2017 11:45

@sugarpiehoneyeye no we still haven’t agreed on a name! It’s virtually impossible as six of us have to agree. I think zeus is off the table, as is Albus, but we have a few new names so we are now down to:

Ziggy
Oakley
Sid
Griffin
Romeo (I’m not keen but the kids are)
Finbar
Buddy (ditto the situation with Romeo)

We are visiting him at the weekend and must have a name by then. The pressure is on!

Well, you've got some great names there !
I like Oakley and Ziggy, he's a lovely pup.
I've named my new puppy Bunty. 😄

BishopstonFaffing · 26/10/2017 12:31

Toby for short

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 26/10/2017 12:37

Ziggy

Or Ronald. Or Percy.

Doggington · 28/10/2017 08:17

In a surprise last minute change of heart we think we are calling him Sidney Waffles Shackleton X (X being our surname). We have until we meet him at lunchtime to confirm.

seven201 · 28/10/2017 15:39

I think he’s a ziggy

StevieNicksRhiannon · 28/10/2017 20:11

OP,

Please, please, tell me:
(a) You're actually registering him at the vet as Sidney Waffles Shackleton (Surname), in its entirety, and will refer to him as such when booking appointments etc. Grin

and

(b) When he misbehaves, you'll look at him in disappointed manner and say "And just what do you think you're doing, chewing that carpet, Mr Sidney Waffles Shackleton (Surname)? Hmm? Hmm?"
Grin Grin

StevieNicksRhiannon · 28/10/2017 20:12

^ Ooh, just realised you were visiting him today! How did it go?

LoveProsecco · 28/10/2017 21:02

I love it if he’s Waffles as his day name Smile

GottaGetThisDone · 28/10/2017 21:18

I was going to say I vote for Weasley but can see your last minute decision, I love it, especially if you do as StevieNicksRhiannon says Grin

We have a 2 year old cavapoo called Ziggy, it really suits him, but he's a BIG character and it's big name. When we went to visit him, he was always the most lively of all the puppies by a long stretch. If yours is showing big character, I'd go for Ziggy; if he's shyer and more sensitive, I'd go for Oakley. Because of his darker colour I'd say Oakley; but then, as someone said he has the white dash on face, which is Bowie-esque for Ziggy.
