Jude?

We think we’ve decided but want a general idea of public opinion.

Thanks.

Love it! I had it on my list for this baby, but DH said no Sad.

I read on here that it's becoming more popular, but I don't know any and think I've only ever overheard it once at a park.

stopbeingadramallama · 06/10/2017 18:12

Hey Jude.

Bubblysqueak · 06/10/2017 18:13

I like it. It's gaining popularity I know of 3 born this year.

early30smum · 06/10/2017 21:00

Love it! Was on my list but vetoed by DH.

Twillow · 06/10/2017 21:11

Love the name itself, but Jude the Obscure is such a tragic book that I couldn't have used the name myself.

bridgetreilly · 06/10/2017 22:16

I do know a little boy called Jude, and I know it is a perfectly good boys name, but I admit I know several Judiths who are generally called Jude and that is my first thought when I hear the name.

MikeUniformMike · 07/10/2017 15:05

Judas. No.

PinkFlamingo888 · 07/10/2017 17:55

I love it! I'll definitely be using it!

Mrsknackered · 07/10/2017 18:27

No. I don't understand the hype around it at all.

Mrsknackered · 07/10/2017 18:27

and I am someone who has children with 'of the moment' names

YouwouldntgodogginginBoden · 07/10/2017 18:30

I wanted to call DS3 Jude but my friend beat me to it.

MyLittleDragon · 07/10/2017 18:38

It's a cool hipster name (if you like that sort of thing, I do)

MrsCharlieD · 07/10/2017 20:57

I have a Jude so hugely biased. We're huge Beatles fans and it's been my favourite name for 20 odd years. I don't like that it's getting popular though so please don't use it Grin

TaggieRR · 07/10/2017 20:58

Not keen, sorry

BuffyFan · 07/10/2017 21:02

I love it. It would have been on my list but it ready doesn't go with our surname. It's a bane that I think carries well from childhood through to adulthood

euanthesheepiloveyou · 07/10/2017 21:07

Seems to be getting very popular lately - I know 3 under 2s called Jude. I like it but it is quite feminine.

Primsgoat · 07/10/2017 21:39

I don't like it, but maybe that's just because I hate the Beatles.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 07/10/2017 21:40

I don't like it but that doesn't matter some people probably don't likey kids names.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 07/10/2017 21:41

like my not likey! Bloody phone.

Ttbb · 07/10/2017 21:41

Makes me think of Judas but otherwise gives

Mclaren37 · 10/10/2017 21:35

Tbh it's one of those names I don't like the sound of. It's the 'oood' that doesn't sound attractive to me. But that is so subjective. If you like the sound of it then go for it. It's not over-used and I can't think of any bad connotations etc.

EvilCleverDog · 11/10/2017 07:44

I've watched too many WW2 documentaries and films as to my 'Jude' is German for Jew.

Ionarocks · 11/10/2017 07:59

I love it but it is very popular near me. I know quite a few under 4, particularly babies born last year.

We very nearly called our ds this but dh wasn't 100% so didn't in the end. I've loved it since being a teenager as, although it is unbearably depressing, Jude the Obscure is one of my favourite books.

Mollie85 · 11/10/2017 17:43

Personally, I don't like the sound at all.

However, I'm in the minority I know.

Good luck
