Natural boys name

I've just found out that I will be having a boy due Jan/Feb time.

I'd like to have a natural sounding name for him, but not something that would hold him back when applying for work in the future.

Maybe something to do with time of day/season/landscape?

Unfortunately I haven't managed to think up any names so far.

I forgot to mention that the surname is a type of winter weather condition.

So the surname is Snow. I think you'll need to be very careful with the first name - surname combination. I'm not sure I'd be looking for a nature-themed first name with a surname like that.

ProfessorCat · 06/10/2017 10:14

Wolfe
Winter
River

Surname could be Frost.

ProfessorCat · 06/10/2017 10:15

Can't you just call him Jon Snow or Jack Frost and have done with it?

MaidenMotherCrone · 06/10/2017 10:16

Dylan - of the sea/tide
Rowan- mountain ash ( the tree not aftermath of wildfireGrin)
Cliff ( DPs idea)
Dale ( also DPs idea)
Bryn ( Welsh for hill)

Forrest Snow? Ocean Snow. Leif Snow. Beech Snow. Ash Snow.

Willow Snow?

Lozmatoz · 06/10/2017 14:18

A lot of presumption about the surname being snow!

DiegoMadonna · 06/10/2017 14:35

Lol at "winter condition" - I was thinking "your surname is cold? Flu? Norovirus???"

NameChange30 · 06/10/2017 15:05

"A lot of presumption about the surname being snow!"

What other winter weather conditions are also surnames?

Sleet? Fog? Mist? Hail? Wind? Cold but sunny?

Do enlighten us!

NameChange30 · 06/10/2017 15:07

Oh I missed Frost, it could be that! Sorry!

Kpo58 · 06/10/2017 15:55

It is either Frost or Snow Smile

Oh, I'm sad that people are right about Frost or Snow. I wanted you to be called Blizzard.

Natural names:
Robin (maybe too Winter themey)
Tallon
Ash
Phoenix
River (doesn't really sound right with Frost or Snow)
Jay (not is you're a Frost because of Jack Frost)
Indigo
Storm (not if you're a Snow because of Snow Storm)
Huckleberry??

Rowan- one of our shortlist for ds2. Love the name.

NotAgainYoda · 06/10/2017 17:40

Scree

Liadain · 06/10/2017 17:44

God Blizzard would be an amazing surname! And I've never been a huge fan of mine, it's tempting...

Anyway OP, I think names like Robin would sound a bit silly with Frost/Snow. It's just that bit too matchy and winter themed.

Would something like Flint work? Or a nature name from another language. Colman in Irish for example is little dove and the nature connotation isnt so obvious...I appreciate though that it may be names like Forrest, Heath etc that you want!

NameChange30 · 06/10/2017 17:46

Most of the suggested names combined with Frost or Snow just sound like wanky paint colours. Sorry!
