A brother for Aidan

Hi, looking for some inspiration. We found out recently that we are having another little boy. DS1 is 2 and called Aidan and it was the only name DH and I both agreed on last time, so really struggling for another boys name now. We liked Finley last time but our surname ends with an ey so wasn't sure if it was too samey.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks Smile

Thanks again for all the suggestions. Ethan and Lachlan are the new favourites. We both still like Finn so the variations of that are helping too

Hooray!

Native Irish here..

Personally, I think Féilim would go very well with Aidan.

It's pronounced Fay-lim.

Other options...

Conall (pronounced Con-il)
Conn
Fionn (pronounced fe-un)
Diarmuid (pronounced deer-mud)
Liam
Eoghan (pronounced Owen)
Finn
Fiachra (fee-ah-krah)

I love Lachlan. That's not a name you hear often. But it's fantastic.

Lemondrop99 · 02/10/2017 23:41

I really like Finn

Thanks for the pronunciations thisisafreename, I work with a Connal and and have always pronounced it as con-all rather than con-il, whoops Blush

HolyShmoly · 03/10/2017 21:53

@thisisafreename are you from Donegal/North West by any chance? That's the only place I've heard Conal (which is on my shortlist.)
And Féilim, for that matter. boat not included

If there is an Irish reason for Aidan I'd be tempted to stick with Irish for his brother too. Some great suggestions here, also Declan, Ronan, or Colm, which I'm assuming won't conjure up memories of old geography teachers for you!

Groovee · 03/10/2017 21:58

DH has 2 cousins who both have an Aidan and an Owen.

Apachepony · 03/10/2017 21:59

Fintan and Finbarr are other options to give you Finn as the shortened version

Apachepony · 03/10/2017 22:00

Oh sorry see they've been given already!

3EyedRaven · 03/10/2017 22:05

Of the Aidens I know, siblings are: Euan, Rhys, Callum, Connor, Ethan and Cameron
