Please tell me your honest opinion of this name for a girl, and, if you can suggest some similar names? Thank you!

Erm no, not for a boy or a girl, as open to all kinds of comments. Do you want a Celtic name or just one with an 'Ar' sound?

Loveisthelaw · 29/09/2017 10:31

I really like it and would think of it as unisex

semideponent · 29/09/2017 10:34

I wouldn't. There's a particular quote from As You Like It that would take on a double meaning if she ever had to study it at school.

Lemondrop99 · 29/09/2017 10:35

Makes me think of Elizabeth Arden, so, for me, sort of puts it in a similar group as other names after brands like Prada or Chanel 😕 Not keen personally. Sorry.

RoryGilmoreWasAwful · 29/09/2017 10:43

There is a famous YouTube called Arden Rose.

Caulkheadupnorf · 29/09/2017 10:45

No. It just makes me think about all the Arden places near Birmingham

LadyPug · 29/09/2017 10:57

What about Auden instead? That's a gorgeous name

LadyPug · 29/09/2017 10:57

Sorry, just saw it was for a girl and Auden is a boys name. How about Audra?

greeeen · 29/09/2017 10:58

Arden is an estate agents here.

Bowsandbugs · 29/09/2017 11:47

I know a little girl called Arden-at first I thought of the make up and then I kind of liked it. I would put it more in the 'Eden' category than the 'Chanel' category myself.

17caterpillars1mouse · 29/09/2017 12:08

No I don't like it

Looks masculine to me and would agree sounds like hard on in an accent where h's are dropped

euanthesheepiloveyou · 29/09/2017 12:40

I like the look of it although & the sound of it but would think it's more of a boy's name. Also, it's difficult to avoid the more childish part of my brain hearing 'Hard On'.

villainousbroodmare · 29/09/2017 12:44

Sounds like a boy's name to me.

Ohyesiam · 29/09/2017 12:48

I think it's unusual enough to be interesting, but not attention seekingly unusual.
Pretty name.

rittercoconut · 29/09/2017 12:49

There was a boy in my class at school called Arden, he got teased quite a bit because of that.

Jooni · 29/09/2017 14:02

I quite like it but prefer Arwen or Anwen. Aspen? Eden?

1haudyerwheesht · 30/09/2017 16:37

Arden is a really rough area in Glasgow.

RebeccaWrongDaily · 30/09/2017 16:42

Hard on here too.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/09/2017 16:53

As in Hampton - in -Arden?

cheesydoesit · 01/10/2017 10:59

I like it. The twins in 'Sex, Chips & Rock'n'roll' were named Arden and Elloise.

Carouselfish · 01/10/2017 23:22

I liked it but went for Carmen in the end as similar feel and meaning.

lindblum · 01/10/2017 23:30

I like it, but it is unusual - what about other plant-related names, like Aspen?

DangerMouse17 · 01/10/2017 23:33

There is an actress/model at the moment in Teen Wolf named Arden Cho (thinks she is Korean American). I quite like it.
