Noelle?

I love this name (girl) but not having a December or Christmas baby, would it be weird to use it?

If so does anyone have any suggestions, it's the sound of this name i like rather than the Christmas theme.

I knew a Holly born in September and Robin born in May. I think it's fine to use so called "Christmas names" for babies born all year round. Also, for me anyway, upon hearing those types of names, I don't tend to think of Christmas.

Dd has a friend noelle who is a spring baby. I stupidly didn't equate it with a Christmas name Blush. I think it's lovely, unusual but not unheard of or hard to pronounce. Go for it!

evilharpy · 26/09/2017 22:22

I like it.

I used to know a Spanish girl called Noelia which I always thought was pretty.

Winteriscomingneedmorewood · 26/09/2017 22:23

My mw years ago was called Noelle. Lovely woman!!

Lemondrop99 · 26/09/2017 22:24

I actually think it would be a bit naff/unimaginative to use it for a Christmas baby. Rather than being weird, I think it would be better used for a baby born at a different time of year.

i think the christmas connotation is a bit stronger than with Holly or Robin for Noelle (maybe thats just me?)

I think it would be awful as a Christmas name but lovely not. Although she would get asked if she was born at Christmas and sung it a lot regardless.

Dixiestampsagain · 27/09/2017 00:37

My auntie'a middle name was Noeline as she was born on Christmas Eve- I like that.

Dixiestampsagain · 27/09/2017 00:38

PS I don't think it sounds over Christmassy at all- it's just more commonly used then, I guess.

PinkCrystal · 27/09/2017 12:13

Beautiful name for any time of year

daisypond · 27/09/2017 12:19

Noelle is very Christmassy - it's not like Robin or Holly at all, which I don't particularly associate with Christmas. Noel/Noelle actually means Christmas. Nevertheless, people call babies June or April, without necessarily being born in those months. I think it's OK.

toffeebuno · 27/09/2017 12:33

I agree it is more Christmassy than Holly!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and I was going to use Noelle for a girl 😍😍
However this little wiggly one is a boy!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Noelle and will probably use if we have a girl in the future 😍

MrsMoggy · 27/09/2017 12:36

What about Narelle instead

StopHammerTime · 27/09/2017 12:40

If I ever have a girl I would name her Noelle and I wouldn't care what time of year she is born. I have met many males named Noel (not so popular these days) and never queried if they were an Xmas baby. Go for it.

toffeebuno · 27/09/2017 13:30

not loving Narelle but thanks for the suggestion Smile

So pretty! Love it!

Buntysoven · 01/10/2017 23:06

I'm really really sorry about this but all I can think of is Noelle below us, Above us only sky. Blush

lindblum · 01/10/2017 23:36

My heroine as a 7-year-old was a Year 6 girl called Noelle who did flute lessons alongside me.

It's a lovely name and doesn't say Christmas to me at all.
