This has come up between friends as a good first name for a girl. What are your thoughts? I personally thought it was a sauce made from flour and milk.

I think of Michel if I see the name spelt like that.

Would they go with Rue, like the character in The Hunger Games?

Nick names at school would be awful

Kanga
Rude roux

When cookery class starts the fat and flour /saucy comments would start

Give her a rea name and use roux as a nick name

Outside of France that would be pronounced Rowx, wouldn't it.

superbeagle the rue I know is actually Indian so maybe it has other meanings than just the French. I might ask her....

But... it’s a French nickname for redheaded boys isn’t it?

So it would look decided off for a brunette/blonde girl.

Why not just call her Ginger?

I taught a girl called Terine. Who had a baby brother called TJ. Or Tea-Jay, never worked out the spelling. She claimed it was TJ at the time.
