I had another thread but hopefully this once will be a bit clearer and more specific (sorry) as think i am sure between either Angelina or Angel.
Which one do you prefer? Thanks

Angelina

Angelina

Angelina (or Angelica).

Angel is very masculine thanks Buffy but also I'd be too superstitious to use it on its own for obvious reasons.

MadameJosephine · 11/09/2017 23:41

Angelina or Angelica are both lovely and I like Jelli as a nn, I'm not keen on Angel, it just doesn't feel like a name to me

cleopa · 11/09/2017 23:44

Thanks guys, don't like Angelica sorry. I think Angel sounds lovely but yes i can see what you mean* about it not sounding like a name. Mrs Hathaway* i had thought of that too :(

Angelina for a girl

Angel for a boy

00100001 · 12/09/2017 06:38

If you call your child Angel, people will assume she us anything but

peachandplum · 12/09/2017 06:38

Angel is ugly sorry

sunbird17 · 12/09/2017 06:45

Definitely Angelina for a girl. I've met a few Angels (not in the UK though), all boys.

OliviaStabler · 12/09/2017 06:49

Angelina. To me, Angel is a boys name.

Yourshakraishangingout · 12/09/2017 06:57

I taught an Angelina who also went by Angel

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/09/2017 07:04

Angelina

stellarfox · 12/09/2017 07:49

Angelina definitely with Angel as a nickname. I know an Angel and her full name is Angelique.

WannabeChild · 12/09/2017 10:32

Angel seems feminine to me, however I think of the character Angel in 90s Home and Away.

I probably prefer Angelina though.

MammieBear · 12/09/2017 11:15

Angelina with Nn Angel.

cleopa · 12/09/2017 11:19

i feel like Angelina would naturally get shorted to Angie rather than Angel no?

Aderyn17 · 12/09/2017 11:19

Evangeline?

I like Angelina. You can still use Angel as an abbreviation.

Chocolatecake12 · 12/09/2017 11:30

Angela?

MrsHathaway · 12/09/2017 11:38

It gets shortened to what you shorten it to, unless you don't shorten it at all.

So if you use Angel or Lina or Jelly or whatever, other people will follow suit. If you insist on Angelina then her friends will do what they like with it.

I think Angie is unlikely as that's very popular among 30-40-yos. Like calling a 4yo Juliette Julie Confused.

cleopa · 12/09/2017 13:06

Thanks everyone, think we will go with Angelina

midsomermurderess · 12/09/2017 16:57

Or perhaps Anjali? It is an Indian name though, so it might raise eyebrows if you are British, say. It apparently means divine offering.

Glumglowworm · 12/09/2017 18:47

Definitely Angelina

I do know an Angel (girl) though

littlem133 · 12/09/2017 18:49

Angel sounds like a pet name, like sweetie or honey or darling
