Girls name conundrum

Uhohmummy · 07/09/2017 20:16

Here's the issue:
We have a very boring, one syllable surname (think: 007),
BUT
Would like a traditional English girl's name...
The problem is the sort of names we like sound too boring and/or serious with our surname - e.g. Anna, Emma, Caroline, Susannah, Elizabeth, etc.
Any suggestions for a traditional girl's name that sounds pretty and interesting with our surname?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

But also, remember that especially when she's a child, you can give her a cute, fun nickname or diminutive: Susie, Lizzy, Rosie etc.

My first thought was Francesca too.

Thanks - some names I hadn't thought of here. I especially like Rosa and Juliet.
Interesting that no one has tried to suggest e.g. Caroline isn't too boring with our surname! Wink

NapQueen · 07/09/2017 21:14

Caroline is lovely!

Penelope
Lilian
Georgina

Applesandpears56 · 07/09/2017 21:19

Carolina is a modern version of Caroline imo and gives you Carrie or Lina as nn options Carolina with your surname sounds lovely

Felicity was the first name I thought

Uhohmummy · 07/09/2017 21:22

Would you pronounce Carolina Caro-leena or Caro-line-ah?
Felicity is lovely but I'm not keen on any of the shortenings - would it inevitably be shortened?

OP posts:
SophieofShepherdsBush · 07/09/2017 21:27

I prefer caro leena.

bridgetreilly · 07/09/2017 21:47

Caro-line-a, like the US state.

Applesandpears56 · 07/09/2017 21:51

Yes it would def be shortened - I quite like Licia as a nn

I'd say caro Leena but I guess it would be open to different ways of being pronounced

workshyfop · 07/09/2017 21:53

Anna would be lovely with your surname. Very sophisticated.

daisypond · 07/09/2017 22:02

I'd say Carol-eena for the name.
