I think Carmen is a Spanish name, rather than Italian.

Mrsknackered · 06/09/2017 23:09

Angelo is one of my all time favourite boys names, I really love it.

I also like:

Aldo
Gabriel
Alessandro
Elia

And I think Valentina, Adriana, Gaia, Elisa and Noemi are are lovely too.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/09/2017 23:16

A lot of the names listed above are pretty old fashioned (think the equivalent of Doris or Ethel!)

Are you looking for a name that will work in both languages?

Are you in the UK (so might prefer a less typically Italian name) or in Italy (where you might prefer the opposite)

What names does the Italian half of the partnership like?

Oriunda · 08/09/2017 08:18

I'm English and DH is Italian. Our son is Cosmo (FIL is Cosimo). Works well in both languages.

Avoid the Andrea/Nicola type boys' names.
Avoid Lucia/Chiara type names because they'd get pronounced loosia and cheeara etc

Gaia is lovely but unfortunately I think would get teased.

perry123 · 18/09/2017 21:01

Surname will be double barrelled English and Italian

We know an American/Italian boy called Loris. There is a top Italian racing driver called Loris. The name really suits him. His sister is Cina (pronounced See-na).

Movablefeast · 18/09/2017 21:08

Oops Loris Kessel was actually Swiss from an Italian speaking area. He died in 2010. A Loris is also a cute, furry creature.
