Alliterative names... Can I do it for one child?

This is making me really anxious and I don't want it to always worry me. I get it's stupid, but she's PFB Grin

I really love the way the name looks written down and I think it sounds fine together?

Scarlett Stephenson

I'm just worrying... Can I honestly do it for one child and not any future children?

We've done it for one of our three children. Although myself and DH also have alliterative names so we might sound a bit mad if we did it to all the children too!
I like Scarlett Stephenson. Smile

Thank you Smile

It's a fab name and 'sc' is a different sound to 'st' anyway. Go for it, it sounds great and Scarlett is lovely. Congrats on new baby girl x

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/09/2017 16:32

Absolutely lovely !😄

redrobinblue · 05/09/2017 18:59

It's a great strong name. They sound good together and not remotely twee. The SC and ST are robust. Like it!

Glumglowworm · 05/09/2017 19:01

Yes it's fine, I would say don't do it for two out of three children (and so on and so on), but one and not the others is fine. I know twins where one is alliterative and the other isn't. I also know three sisters who are all SS!

Tattybogle89 · 05/09/2017 19:52

Yeah sounds really pretty. I think it only really stands out with alliterative names if they are also rhymey?! But yours isn't it sounds fab x

WhispersOfWickedness · 05/09/2017 19:54

It's fine Smile
One out of two of our DC have an alliterative name (in fact, the same first two letters) and nobody has ever mentioned it.

Argeles · 05/09/2017 20:01

It sounds lovely.

BrutusMcDogface · 05/09/2017 20:04

Sounds great!

Sophronia · 05/09/2017 20:26

Sounds great.

Namechangeblock · 05/09/2017 20:39

I don't think it is alliterative in any event

Mclaren37 · 06/09/2017 03:52

Love it.

Snowdog37 · 06/09/2017 04:15

I love alliterative names. I think we are going for double A for our little boy.

Barbadosgirl · 06/09/2017 21:31

Big fan of alliteration here. Scarlett Stephenson sounds like a vibrant and fun young lady and I would definitely want to be her friend!

MikeUniformMike · 06/09/2017 22:29

It's cool.

Bubblesoup · 09/09/2017 07:42

I love it! I really wouldn't worry! One of my daughters has an alliterative name, but not the other.

Some double letter names sound comical but Scarlett Stephenson is excellent.

QuinionsRainbow · 09/09/2017 11:16

Rather better than:

Name: Scarlet Rash
Birth: abt 1909
Residence: 1929 - Crawfordsville, Indiana,

PandorasXbox · 09/09/2017 12:01

Fab.

Sequence · 09/09/2017 12:10

It's fine Smile

CoffeeBreakIn5 · 09/09/2017 12:21

I think it sounds lovely! I don't particularly like alliterative names, but then I got married and I now have an alliterative name myself. People haven't ever really commented on it so it made me realise it wasn't that bad in a lot of cases. As a pp said, it can make some names sound comical but it totally depends on the name.

mummytwoh · 09/09/2017 17:45

Really lovely name, flows well.
The sounds are so different it doesn't really sound obviously alliterative anyway.

I don't think you need to do it for all future children - actually tagging its better if you don't.

I have 2 non alliterative names and if baby number 3 is a girl one of my favourite names makes her HH
