Hi all, due baby number 4, DD3 at beginning of December. Can you help? As you can see I go for traditional and quite popular names in the end! But would love to be a bit more original this time. Ideally would like a name with an historic/Royal connection as I unwittingly did with the first three but it doesn't have to. Thanks for your input!

My long list so far is:
Adelaide
Eleanor
Madeleine
Victoria
Juliette
Harriet
Susanna
Georgina

I like your other DC's names, they are all straight out of Jane Austen! Going by that, from your list I would say Eleanor or Harriet (the other names don't appear in Jane Austen books). As you say you want it to be a name with royal connections, then it would have to be Eleanor, there were one or two queen Eleanors I think, back in the middle ages, but no Queen or Princess Harriet, as far as I know, though Charles I's wife was Henrietta Maria (Harriet could be seen as short for Henrietta, as Harry is traditionally short for Henry). Eleanor is lovely.

I also thought Catherine, too, or Mary. But not Elizabeth (even though I like it), it is too similar to Isabella, in fact it's based on the same name, Isabella being the Italian/Spanish version of Elizabeth, as far as I know.

How about Ottilie?

Georgiana instead of Georgina. Mr Darcy's sister in Pride and Prejudice.

From your list Eleanor or Harriet.
