A sister for Darcey, to be born at Christmas

Surname is one syllable and starts with B.
Just to make it more tricky, we live in a francophone country so needs to be something that works for French speakers as well as English ones.

Any nice ideas?

Anais is quite nice...i think it's of French origin?

LetLoveWin · 16/08/2017 11:24

Anouk is French, from the film Chocolat, always liked it

LapinR0se · 16/08/2017 11:26

I don't want an actual French name. Just one that works ok for French speakers.
E.g. Harrison is not good because they don't pronounce the h and hérisson is a hedgehog. (I know that's a boy's name am just trying to illustrate)

I was going to say Noelle. Love it.
What about Natalie? It's a christmassy name.

Blondielongie · 16/08/2017 11:28

Catherine is good for French too

LapinR0se · 16/08/2017 11:32

Thank you so much for the suggestions!!

I find Noelle a bit twee and I knew too many Natalie's in the UK who weren't very nice.

Catherine is Darcey's middle name so that's out. But yes it works fine in France

Holly

Babyk12 · 16/08/2017 11:39

Belle
Eve
Clara
Gabriella

Blondielongie · 16/08/2017 11:39

I've asked my French dp. He thinks Annie/Anna or Phillipa would work.

I know, same Natalie thing here - although every Natalie I have met as an adult has been lovely! What about Amy?

Oh, Clara is beautiful!

Darcey and Clara. :)

LapinR0se · 16/08/2017 12:22

It is nice but my sister has a Ciara so that might get confusing for everybody?

MadMags · 16/08/2017 12:23

Really? I don't think they're alike at all!

Ruby?

LapinR0se · 16/08/2017 12:25

There is one letter difference!

Amelia/Amelie? I know popular in the UK but maybe not so much where you are living?

MadMags · 16/08/2017 12:27

I meant phonetically, OP.
