Where I live the 'most popular baby names' are nowhere to be seen. I am interested to know what names are popular amongst babies and children in your area and (roughly) where you are from.
I have never met a baby Isla and I love the name! In this area Florence and Theodore are very common- I am from the South West of England.

Rural NSW, Aus here. The most popular name for girls, by far, is Harper (ranked 19th overall). Second would be Evie (ranked 14th) and then Isla (ranked 9th).

For boys, the most popular would be Noah (ranked 4th), followed by Oliver (ranked 1st) and then Alexandra (ranked 9th).

SuperBeagle · 06/08/2017 21:37

Oop, Alexander rather than Alexandra. Blush

South coast. There was a nursery newsletter that came out about a year ago. About 13-14 new starters, 8 (not an exaggeration) were called Amelia.
Also lots of Lily, Daisy, Ava/Ella. Boys - Charlie, Harry.

I always loved the name Freya for a girl and thought it was quiet uncommon in U.K.as I never heard it used here. Fast forward a few years and since having my daughter there are at least 3 other Freyas every time we go to the baby clinic. I hear that name shouted out across playgrounds quiet frequently too. Her full name is Freya Ophelia so that's my only consolation! 😂

I also have a Louis and that seems to be quiet popular choice here too. We are in SW London

Lucifersangel · 07/08/2017 10:44

From looking at all the responses Lily and Amelia seem very popular along with Oliver and Noah. So the 'most popular' lists are obviously more accurate in certain areas than others. Isla is also obviously far more popular than I would have thought too-I still think it's a beautiful name though

North. Lots of Ava, Eva and Evie around here. Boys are mainly Max,
Charlie and Alfie but less so than the common girls names.

OMG these apostrophes are driving me crazy Grin

Surrey. Can't move for Henrys and Oscars. Toby, Leo, Theo/Teddy, Finn all seem very popular too.

There seems to be much more of a range of girl names, I can't think of any multiples actually!
