I love the name Brodie if we have a baby girl (I know it is normally a male name but we like boyish names on girls).

Anyway, my question is, we have a surname very similar in sound think 'Codebie' (sounding although its nothing like this - just for reference if you say it as code-bie)

So does Brodie Codebie sound ridiculous or is it quite 'cute' and nice to say?

Going from a cool interesting name like Brodie to Frances is a bit of a leap...what about Francesca? I did know someone who had the same first and last name (think Frank Franks)

I love the name Blake but my husband doesn't. I have toyed with the idea of bridie but its not really sticking for me. I like the name Francesca but we have one in the family already.

I like Georgina / Georgia but call her Georgie but again, my husband doesn't. He likes really REALLY girlie names and I am constantly finding ways I could shorten them.

Yes Kalamari - I went to school with someone who had a name like that too but no one ever teased him.

Surely if your DH likes girly names and you prefer shorter more boyish versions then that is the compromise: DD is named Charlotte/Georgina/Frederica/Samantha etc on bc, DH calls her that and you call her Charlie/Georgie/Freddie/Sam.
