Please tell me your loveliest boy names

Just that really!

I have done something I swore I never would and convinced myself that we are having a boy, (before we've reached the stage where someone might be able to confirm that at a scan).

Anyway, we have a list of lovely girl names, but can't agree on any boy names. We both liked Matthew and Christopher for a while, but we've both gone off Matthew, (as Matt Surname sounds horrible), and I've gone off Christopher, (don't like Chris).

Some of my favourites, (vetoed by DH) are:

Gabriel
Rufus
Hamish
Angus
Rowan
Fergus
Solomon
Hugh
Jude

Have googled - yes, John! I briefly went out with a horrible John, so that's ruined the name for me sadly.

JOEL

and Nicholas.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 29/07/2017 20:24

I do like Henry James (the name and the author), but I'm not a big enough fan of the author to name a child after him iyswim.

Have added Jonah to the list!

Tristan was my boys name, but I had Dd.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 29/07/2017 20:30

I can't use Tristan sadly. It is quite nice though.

Lots of your vetoed names were on my list. Not religious but I seem to like biblical names: Gabriel, Solomon, Ezra, Samuel, Saul, Joseph, Elijah.

My DS is Reuben James.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 29/07/2017 20:55

Good to hear people's favourites, even if we don't have the same taste Smile.

Love Rory and have added it to the list, though DH definitely vetoed it last time I mentioned it. I like Lorcan, but it doesn't sound good in the accent where we live. I also like Sonny, but we have a surname which ends in son so it doesn't sound great.
