Eye-ah is the sound Italians make to mean 'ow'. Bit weird. Aida (pronounced eye ee da) is nicer imo and a known but uncommon name

It's awful. Sorry. It's what you may well be shouting as she is born...as in "ayai feck! That hurts!!!"

The i and y do seem needless together. It would make me try to pronounce it Ah-ee-ya.
