Connor?

DP seems to think it is, I love it.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's not here in Canada (probably not helpful)

Is the traditional spelling not "Conor"?

VimFuego101 · 16/07/2017 02:12

I think it's lovely. No idea what the 'right' spelling is though.

TurquoiseOwl · 16/07/2017 03:26

Conor is definitely the 1st name. Connor the surname. Of course either could be used. All the Connors (know 3) / Conors (know 1) (I actually also know a Connar!) are all late teens/early adults, so I suppose it is a little bit, but I definitely wouldn't think it was... If that makes any sense!

Strangely, I know quite a few (didn't realise until this thread) Smile

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 16/07/2017 07:31

OP,

Well, it's not considered 'dated' in Ireland!
(The single 'n' spelling, anyway: was ranked 4th most popular boys' name last year).

Personally, I really like the name. Especially the 'dog or wolf-lover' element. Smile
Is due a revival in these parts! (Home Counties).

The two I know in RL (one a single 'n', the other a double 'n') are both in their 30s. Oddly, it's the 'Connor' who is of proud Irish extraction, and the 'Conor' has no connection to Ireland whatsoever: parents just liked the name.

But I have heard it occasionally called out to an under 5, just when out and about.
So I give it a definite yes vote.

Onedaysoooon · 16/07/2017 07:32

I like it. Very popular.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/07/2017 09:45

Good choice.

mum2be2boys · 16/07/2017 10:32

Lovely name, it doesn't seem dated to me.

ilivebythesea · 16/07/2017 12:02

A few round here, spelt Connor, but as many as Callum and Cameron.

ilivebythesea · 16/07/2017 12:02

not

Mollie85 · 16/07/2017 13:52

There's an awful lot of "Connors" aged about 24- 29 that I know of, so it may have been a big early 90s name? I am in GB not Ireland.

I'm not mad about it, it's inoffensive and pleasant enough, but I am not naming your DC Smile

Good luck

Mollie85 · 16/07/2017 13:54

...sorry, I just saw that you weren't asking for opinions on the name just whether it was popular ...

As you were Grin

MikeUniformMike · 16/07/2017 14:48

It was hugely popular a few years ago. Nice though. I prefer the Conor spelling.

PandaCat · 16/07/2017 15:34

I don't think it is. I know a teenaged Connor.

Sophronia · 16/07/2017 18:06

It's a bit 90s, along with Callum, Kieran, Cameron etc. I don't mind it though.

ConstanceCraving · 16/07/2017 20:17

Yes I think so.

PoppyPopcorn · 16/07/2017 20:22

Connor is a "naughty boy" name round here.

TurquoiseOwl · 16/07/2017 21:33

Yeah, I know a naughty Connor Hmm but a lovely Conor too. A name means nothing. I also know a horrendous Thomas, Joshua and Dominic. All names that would never get that comment made. It's just ridiculous.

numbmum83 · 17/07/2017 00:13

An old school friend had a baby just last week and they've called him Connor .
