I know the obvious ones (Holly, Joseph, Gabriel etc) but noticed on a thread recently that someone had said Casper was a Christmassy name as it was the name of one of the wise men.

Are there any other Christmas names that we may not have otherwise considered to be so?

Sylvester is new year, well St Sylvester is on the continent.
Nicholas for St Nick
Balthazar is one of the kings though you'd probably need to be pretty bold to go for this (would love to have the courage).

Variations on the theme of "Star" - e.g. Stella, Seren

Natalie, Natalia and Natasha are names that mean born at the time of the Nativity. Interestingly Nathan and Nathaniel sound like they should mean the same but actually mean gift from God.

St. Adele's feast day is Christmas Eve.
St. Stephen's Day is Boxing Day

I adore the simplicity of Holly.

firawla · 19/07/2017 19:50

My dd was born on xmas day, she's called Noora (Arabic for light) which coincidentally is quite a Christmassy meaning, as we wanted that name anyway! Middle name we put Maryam since it was Christmas - Arabic version of Mary. The baby in the next bed was holly!

Other Christmassy names:

Eve (if Christmas Eve)
Holly
Ivy
Lucy (means light)
Esther or Estelle (star)
Noelle
Mary
Mariah?

MikeUniformMike · 19/07/2017 19:55

Stephen

mailfuckoff · 19/07/2017 19:59

If you have a Christmas baby please give it a normal name. I was born at Christmas and I'm so pleased I have a normal name, It's a horrible time to have a birthday and you dont want to be reminded about it all the time!

Peopleplease · 19/07/2017 23:12

Robin - christmassy but not too obvious.

My Christmas baby is called
Leah Grin

Nellyphants · 20/07/2017 09:23

Nollaig

CyrilSneer30 · 20/07/2017 10:49

It may have been my recent thread you saw regarding Caspar, my Christmas Day baby's name. His middle name is Felix which often came up as a suggestion as a Christmassy name given it's meaning of 'happy, lucky' - very appropriate for the time of year and again not obviously linked to Christmas.
