Camilla if you're in the UK as no one will bother with the French pronunciation of Camille and I think the British way of pronouncing it is horrible.

Bluerose27 · 10/07/2017 13:17

I love Camille. I pronounce it Cam-eel.
Are you thinking Cam-ee? Is that the French pronunciation?

Camilla makes me think of Charles' wife

Jooni · 10/07/2017 13:20

Camille!

ElspethFlashman · 10/07/2017 13:21

Camilla. I think it's prettier than Cam-meel, which reminds me of Camel.

GrabbyMcGrabby · 10/07/2017 13:22

Camille is lovely. Forget Camilla.

ImGoingForATwix · 10/07/2017 13:28

I know a lovely Camille. I think it's a very underused name, feminine but not too cutesy.

Camilla makes me think of Charles' wife and horses.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 10/07/2017 13:48

Camille by miles for me. Camilla sounds a bit medical to me for some reason.

Sophronia · 10/07/2017 16:14

Camille.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/07/2017 18:14

Camilla, or how about Carmen.

SnowWhite33 · 10/07/2017 21:07

Camilla by a mile.
I dont get how people associate it with the royals, the lady is a 60 year old + woman, what does it have to do with a baby?

To me personally any French ending names come across unnatural unless you are French. They are pretty yes, all the Juliettes, Camilles, Cecilles, but the pronunciation never sounds natural

TartanDMs · 10/07/2017 21:09

Camille. I know one and she is very chic. Camilla to me is horsey.

Maggie2828 · 10/07/2017 23:49

I love both. I'd probably go for camilla but only because of a crisis of confidence in the pronunciation of Camille. I'd say cam-eel. Is that right? Camilla might sound more natural if you are English to your core like I am!

Buntysoven · 11/07/2017 00:02

Camille

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 11/07/2017 05:37

Camille

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/07/2017 09:29

Camille is more chic. Camille is still pretty but more frilly. I prefer Camille

TurquoiseOwl · 15/07/2017 02:05

Camilla

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 15/07/2017 03:11

Camille sounds much more gentle to me.

CherryBees · 16/07/2017 14:12

Camilla is beautiful.

MikeUniformMike · 16/07/2017 14:43

Both are nice. I would go with Camille (Cameel). Either is highly likely to be shortened to Cam, which I don't like.

Wilhelminaaa · 16/07/2017 20:00

Definitely Camille.

KoalaDownUnder · 16/07/2017 21:55

Camille.

NoSquirrels · 16/07/2017 22:16

Camille.

Which surprises me, as my gut reaction, as I'd usually go for the traditional English. But Camilla just doesn't sit right whereas I find Camille beautiful.

You'll get the same nicknames anyway. Millie, perhaps?

Hairq · 16/07/2017 22:35

How about Camellia? (Like the flower)

Pinkandgreenandblue · 16/07/2017 23:05

I'm a Camille living in England. My name is pronounced the French way (Cam-ee) but everyone English that I know (including old/best friends) says it more like Cammy and I use Cam-eel for work as it's simpler! People invariably hear 'Kelly' on the phone if I say Cam-ee. So really only my mum and other French people say my name correctly. I love my name but it is hard work sometimes!

Cami12 · 17/07/2017 04:52

Camille by a hairs breadth, but both are fantastic. Camille is slightly more 'chic' and Camilla slightly more 'pretty' I think?
