What do you think? DH is set on it, I actively like it, but get stuck on Con or Rad being the logical shortening so of it. Rad is ok, not keen on Con.

Thoughts oh great MNers

I don't like it at all, but I don't think it'd necessarily be shortened either. If I knew a Conrad, I'd just call him that unless he used a shortening. It's not a long enough, or popular enough, name to have an assumed shortening.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/07/2017 22:35

Love Conrad (Rad), it's a great name.

DramaAlpaca · 04/07/2017 23:16

I love it.

TheSeaTheSkyTheSeaTheSkyyyyyy · 04/07/2017 23:20

I like it a lot. Was on our early list. I wouldn't shorten it tbh. I knew one growing up and he always just went by Conrad.

DeanKoontz · 04/07/2017 23:23

I actually really like it. But can't not say it in a Russian accent Blush

TartanDMs · 04/07/2017 23:27

I went to school with a Konrad who was known as Rado. I like it.

Sophronia · 05/07/2017 00:01

I love Conrad!

Sophronia · 05/07/2017 00:02

I know a German Konrad who goes by Konny

emesis · 05/07/2017 07:21

I think if you wanted 'Rad' as a nickname you'd have to push that pretty hard. The emphasis is on the first syllable so people would more naturally call him Con.

ShutupanddriveM5 · 05/07/2017 07:31

Lived with a Conrad in uni who went by Connor. I like it x

missyB1 · 05/07/2017 07:35

I have always liked that name, I think if it gets shortened it's more likely to be Con (which I also like).

Joinourclub · 05/07/2017 07:37

I like it. And I like Con.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 05/07/2017 07:45

My favourite boys' name ever and if DD had been a boy, I'd definitely have used it.

Dixiestamp · 05/07/2017 07:58

Neither like or dislike it, really, but I think it's a really distinctive name.

RickOShay · 05/07/2017 08:01

Someone in my family is called Conrad. His names is never shortened, I think it is a great name.

17caterpillars1mouse · 05/07/2017 08:10

I like Conrad and don't think it would be naturally shortened Tbh

IHaveACrapCat · 05/07/2017 08:20

Thank you all, very helpful!

Yes agree that using Rad as a shortening would take some effort!

DD has a distinctive two syllable name (Juno) so think they could work well together

Love it - very handsome.

MammieBear · 05/07/2017 10:12

It's a good name reminds me of the film Cat in the hat as that's the name of the boy.

BlueChampagne · 05/07/2017 12:41

We have one and generally it doesn't get shortened.

BlueChampagne · 05/07/2017 12:43

If it's important to you, he's not only the only one in his class, but the only one in his school, but no-one has any trouble with his name.

mollyminniemo · 05/07/2017 16:58

LOVE it
