Not looking for opinions on the name.

Just wondering if I can?

I'd say it's too much of a tongue-twister to work.

Lemondrop99 · 20/06/2017 18:18

It's feels a bit much together

SnickersWasAHorse · 20/06/2017 18:20

I love Edison.
I might be be tempted to change surname just to keep that.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 20/06/2017 18:25

We've had to rule out most ..,son names for the same reason op! I like Edison, though. It just doesn't sound great said together with Stevenson (sorry). Depends how much that bothers you.

AmateurSwami · 20/06/2017 18:26

Quite like it!

CrownOfPrawns · 20/06/2017 18:30

No.

thegirlupnorth · 20/06/2017 18:34

I wouldn't. No.

wizzler · 20/06/2017 22:23

No

Migraleve · 20/06/2017 22:36

i was just thinking kids aren't very often referred to by their full name anyway so why worry

Maybe not, but as adults we use our forename and surname together for many things, sometimes daily. So while it may not impact someone as a child, it absolutely will as an adult

LaurieFairyCake · 20/06/2017 22:43

Sounds like a new steam mop

tellmewhen · 20/06/2017 22:51

I have to give my full name at work many times every day. I think I would find Edison Stevenson too much of a mouthful. He'd probably have to keep spelling it as well "one d and its v not ph" every time. It would drive me crackers tbh.
Is Edgar any good?

ScarletSienna · 21/06/2017 00:44

No. I don't think a surname as a first name works anyway (usually) but a surname first name with the same ending (and a very surnamey ending at that) as your actual surname sounds ridiculous.

Also, sounds like a form of solicitors or similar.

I too have a restrictive surname so totally understand any frustrations!

ScarlettFreestone · 21/06/2017 00:54

I do think it sounds rather more like a engineering company name than a person.

Of course you can call your child anything you like.

KoalaDownUnder · 21/06/2017 04:12

It's quite a mouthful. Doesn't flow very well.

Agree. Also that it sounds like a business partnership.
