Kieran or Noah?

We wouldn't spell it Ciaran (have absolutely no connection to Ireland - people would struggle with the spelling!)

Kieran or Noah?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Kieran

grufallosfriend · 04/06/2017 10:59

Noah sounds weak, feminine and like a whiny No

Kieran sounds much stronger and more masculine. I much prefer it.

ScarletSienna · 04/06/2017 14:20

Kieran. Noah is used so much at the moment and over the last few years. (Plus to me it sounds like someone whining; 'No-wah')

Magpie24 · 04/06/2017 16:28

Noah! Definitely

n0ne · 04/06/2017 16:33

Bored stiff of Noah but Kieran seems really dated - 80s specifically. Sorry, not helpful.

Alcea · 04/06/2017 16:36

I adore the name Noah.

I generally don't like names that begin with a K, very hard sounding IMO.

TrulyFubar · 04/06/2017 16:44

I have a Ciaran and he's not had an issue with the spelling. There was this one teacher who tried calling him See-are-un though...

alltouchedout · 04/06/2017 16:45

I quite like both. But pp have mentioned Keir, and that is a name I love.

seething1234 · 04/06/2017 16:56

Noah.... Kieran with a K makes me cringe.

Honeyandfizz · 04/06/2017 17:25

Noah, who cares if it's popular? If you like it use it!

grufallosfriend · 05/06/2017 12:22

Who cares if it's popular? Maybe Noah himself when he's in a class with 3 others.

Magpie24 · 05/06/2017 14:48

That's actually a good point because my name was super popular when I was born and I find it a little annoying at work when there are several other women at work on the same project as me! That being said that must always be a concern for John, James, David etc!

mrspatel77 · 23/10/2017 13:02

I vote for Keiron but it is my OH name so I am biased x

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/10/2017 13:12

Kieran, but do prefer Ciaran
If I hear of another Noah, I'll scream

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 23/10/2017 17:04

Noah.

BernardBlacksHangover · 23/10/2017 17:10

Noah. Yes, it's everywhere, but it's still a nice name. Dislike Kieran. How about Cillian or Cian?

Foniks · 23/10/2017 17:18

They're both nice names, but I say Kieran just because I hear Noah so much it's annoying now. It's everywhere, even the girls version is becoming very very popular. Apparently Oliver was the #1 name in 2017 ONS, but hear Noah at least a trillion times more often than Oliver for some reason.

llangennith · 23/10/2017 17:34

Noah is way too common.

alittlebitoflove · 23/10/2017 17:43

Kieran

youarenotkiddingme · 23/10/2017 17:46

I like both.

I teach a Kieran and he is fab! Lovely personality and very funny!

pipilangstrumpf · 23/10/2017 18:09

Noah is way overused and may well start to sound dated soon.

So Kieran if I have to choose

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/10/2017 18:09

Noah

pipilangstrumpf · 23/10/2017 18:14

I also dislike the sound of No-ah, it sounds like a whiny No

Loveisthelaw · 23/10/2017 19:07

Love Kieran. Would have used it but I have an in-law Ciaran now.

Tilapia · 23/10/2017 19:08

Kieran
