Hi all,
I'm 20 weeks pregnant and we found out at the scan this week we're having a little girl! We're over the moon and so excited as we already have a little boy so will be lovely to have one of each.
We named our son Daley as we wanted something unusual which we're unlikely to come across when he goes to school etc. We absolutely love the name and it's perfect for him.
We want an equally unusual name for our little girl, but a beautiful and either girly or American-sounding name if possible. We had Leia at the top of our list last time if we were having a girl but I'm not 100% on it anymore. We have a few other names we like but can't really agree on one together and don't feel as though we've found 'the one' yet.
Any suggestions welcome please - something unusual and pretty.
Thank you! xx

I think a one syllable girls' name goes well with Daley as the brother. It sort of reverses the typical gender sounds, the boy ends in 'ey' and the girl is short, punchy.

I'm a teacher in london boroughs and I must say, I have taught in the last 5 years, abut 70% of these names. To go truly rare, you need to be thinking obscure references as opposed to 'rare names'.

Love surnames as baby names.

How about Presley?

(though tempted to say Thomson - you'll be too young to know who Daley Thomson is).

I used to know a girl called Jathniel (although when I googled recently it looked like it's more commonly a boys name). Friends recently had a girl and named her Sage.
