No. the male pronounciation is FrancIs, the female FrancEs.

Hmm I've only ever heard them the same. However, if it helps you, use Jo/Joe in my example.

They definitely sound the same. Just like Eve/Yves sound that same.

I pronounce both "Francis". Maybe it varies regionally.

None of those sound exactly like John though - just vaguely similar but not enough to cause confusion. We're talking actual homophones.
