Jemma. Pretty and suits all ages.

FluffyBathTowel · 04/05/2017 22:22

I prefer Maisy - spelt with a y rather than ie.

LykkeStrom · 04/05/2017 22:32

Jemma has very strong (working-) class connotations for me.

Maisie seems less placeable on the socio-economic ladder, and that can only be a good thing in this class-obsessed country!

squoosh · 04/05/2017 22:42

I'd have said the exact opposite. To me Jemma is an everywoman name whereas Maisie is the name of a 1930s charwoman. Maybe a scullery maid. Definitely not a parlour maid though.

ThierryEnnui · 04/05/2017 22:45

Prefer Maisie but would probably spell it Maisy

villainousbroodmare · 04/05/2017 23:09

Jemma if I had to choose... Maisie is like a dusty little mouse or a scullery maid. Jenna is lovely though, and Jemima.

Ohyesiam · 05/05/2017 08:23

Can't imagine going to a job interview as Maisie, too cartoony for an adult. Or even a child past toddler hood.

sparkleandsunshine · 05/05/2017 08:25

I like Maisie, but I went to school with a bitch called Jemma!

grufallosfriend · 05/05/2017 09:09

Jemma! Feminine and classy.

Maisie is a comical cutesy mouse name imo. Really dislike it.

Railgunner1 · 05/05/2017 11:55

Gemma

mollyminniemo · 05/05/2017 12:41

No way Jemma!! Jemma to me is in same group as Sharon and Tracey.
Awful. Harsh.
Maisie is pretty and feminine.

Scrumpernickel · 05/05/2017 13:02

Personally I think Maisie sounds harsh. Nothing pretty or feminine about it for me. It sounds like the name of a downtrodden servant.

grufallosfriend · 05/05/2017 14:05

Jemima is also very pretty.

Maisie is really not feminine to me. I find it cute, mousy and a little cartoony, sorry.

BarryKwipkee · 05/05/2017 14:07

Jemma

Maisie is ok but a bit more of a dog name. Saying that my own name is given to dogs. I just much prefer Jemma/Gemma

DisorderedAllsorts · 06/05/2017 03:00

Jemma or Jemima
Maisie is ok if you are 4 years old but not when you are 40 imo.

TheDowagerCuntess · 06/05/2017 04:54

Maisie conjures up 'scullery maid' to me, not that there's anything wrong with that.

It sounds old lady, and also nicknamey - it lacks substance.

Jemma is a very different sort of name. If I had to choose, I'd go for Jemma/Gemma.
