Does Theodore work with surname Bell?

My due date is next week and this little boy still hasn't got a name!

Our surname is Bell.
My DH and I love the name Theodore and we were almost dead set on naming our boy this, but my DH noticed if you run the names together too quickly it sounds like 'doorbell'. I didn't notice, but he's worrying.
The only other names we can agree on are Alexander and Henry, but they don't feel quite as special to me as we have called the bump Theodore/Teddy since 20 weeks.

Is this an issue? Do you hear "doorbell" when saying the name out loud? Or are we better off with Alexander or Henry with the surname Bell and which do you prefer and why?

Thank you!

I agree Theo Bell sounds like Theabelle

I got Teddy Bell and thought it was too much like Teddy Bear.

Doorbell is worse though. When he's grown they'll call him Ding Dong you know 😄

I didn't notice Theodore Bell (door bell), but I do think Teddy Bell is odd.

It's not going to work is it. School registers or if he has a profession where you introduce yourself it just can't happen. I feel for you as our surname is one which restricts us too, no matter how much you love it you'd feel terrible when they got teased.

It was the first thing I thought when I saw it. No pointing out necessary.

Please don't use Theodore Bell unless you insert another surname to double barrel. YYY to 'Ding Dong'...

Grin at Archie Bishop and Rory Lyons.
