Amber Ruby - please tell me it's ok?

Sounds fine to me.

2 colours and 2 gemstones- a bit unusual but not terrible.

If you like it that's all that matters. I think of it as two gemstones rather than two colours.

2 gem names are a bit odd, unless you're a geologist or a jeweller.

Reminds me too much of the kids programme Sofia the first.

I think it's fine, Amber and Ruby are both perfectly ordinary, not too 'out there' names so I doubt anyone will think twice about it.

Both names are fine on their own, but the two gemstones together seem a bit odd, like if someone was called Hazel Willow or Iris Violet.

Amber and Ruby? Too much, imo, like Daisy Rose or Hope Constance...

I would also admit that, round the parts at least, Amber is a bit of a chavvy name.

I think you'd be better with a middle name starting with a letter other than R tbh. Amber Ruby just sounds like Amberuby or Amber Ruby.

If you really want two gem stones how about

Amber Opal
Amber Pearl
Amber Sapphire

Or something totally different.

How often will someone say the second name? How often does anyone say the second name unless its hyphenated like Daisy-Mae or Emily-Jane.

I have an AMber wiith a second name similar to Ruby...I only ever call her by both names when I an pretending to be shocked at her behaviour. Its a lovely name. Especially if, like mine, she is a red-head!

You only need to add Ferne and you'll have your own little pedestrian traffic light.

If you like it, go ahead. I wouldn't but that's because I don't think rubies come in amber colours...but few people will use both names.

I really like both names not sure about together. I once worked with an amber rose whose maiden surname began with a T so great initials. She married someone whose surname began with an S... not so great initials. I think she kept her maiden name.

Amber rose is famous for dating Kanye west, don't pick that.

Amber ruby is lovely

It's a bit odd, makes me think of fire because of the colour associations. And Amber R Surname doesn't trip off the tongue. But it's not terrible. Both are nice names.
