I like Finn but really don't like Finley/ Finlay. I'm aware it has become quite popular but I've never met any (I'm in Australia though). How many Finns do you know?

I'm in Australia and know one Finn, one Flynn, and two Finleys - one a boy and one a girl.

My little DS2 is Finn Grin I love it

Sophronia · 23/04/2017 07:29

I know one aged 3

User24689 · 23/04/2017 07:31

Thanks! I also know 3 Flynns and several Finley's. I think Flynn is nice too although it has a bit more of a trendy vibe to it and wonder if it will be one of those names that will be really popular for a short time.

Comeback good choice! :)

Naming boys is hard!

I know three, aged 12, 9 and 2.

MiniMaxi · 23/04/2017 09:34

Our DS was nearly a Finn!

I know one Finn (8 months) and one Flynn (2 yo)

RedStripeIassie · 23/04/2017 09:36

Finbar on my husbands side. Shortens to Finn. Love it.

Summertime10 · 23/04/2017 09:37

I know 1 Finn in his 20s, 1 Flynn in his teens and a Finlay who's 5.

I don't know any just Finns, but I come across a few Finleys and know one little Finnbar, which I think is v cool! Finn is a lovely name - simple and strong.

ScarlettDarling · 23/04/2017 09:59

I know a few but it certainly isn't common. I really like it. Love Flynn too.

MrsCharlieD · 23/04/2017 15:58

I know 3 finlays and 1 Finn. There are also 2 more finlays on the nursery name badge wall but i dont actually know them. I also know a flynn but she's a girl. It's very popular here.

PurpleMadness · 23/04/2017 16:00

I know two. I like it but prefer Finlay.

grufallosfriend · 24/04/2017 07:23

I know lots of Finns (Finlay, Finley, Finnian), a couple of Quinns and one Flynn.

Abrahamkin · 24/04/2017 08:42

I'm in Denmark. Plenty of Finns here. Mostly men in their 50s+ Grin. Don't think that is relevant if you have no plans to move here though.

TheScottishPlay · 24/04/2017 08:45

The Finlay I know has a Scottish Mum and Irish Dad. Shortens to Finn and works in both countries.

LBOCS2 · 24/04/2017 08:56

I know three Finlays under 5, and they all get shortened to Finn...

MrsNuckyThompson · 24/04/2017 09:14

I know one Finn in the UK aged 5 and one Finnbar in the US aged 7.

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 24/04/2017 09:17

I have a Fynn. . He is 13

wigglesrock · 24/04/2017 10:35

I would know 5 or 6 - all primary school age and younger, so under 11s. Most of them are short for Fintan.

User24689 · 24/04/2017 10:58

Thanks very much all. I suppose there is a 'family' of Finn type names which makes it seem very common. Not sure if it matters though!

I know of one other Finn and a couple of Finley/Finlays

TheScottishPlay · 25/04/2017 09:47

Finton is a great name too.

grufallosfriend · 25/04/2017 13:51

Abrahams, do you mean Finns from Finland Grin

Abrahamkin · 25/04/2017 18:13
