Imelda?

I like the nickname Immy, but not the name Imogen particularly as there area fair few around her. However, I have never heard of a young Imelda and I love the meaning - powerful warrior woman. What do you think?

Surely Marcos is the obvious problem.

Great name IMO

Polichinelle · 22/04/2017 00:27

I would always think of the dictator's wife

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/04/2017 08:37

How about Simone (Immy).

Thatextrainch · 22/04/2017 09:12

It's fine. Eva Braun has hardly resulted in Eva being unpopular

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 22/04/2017 09:15

LOve it, mind you I loved Imogen and didn't use it as there were squillions about, but then I think I started the whole Eve/Evie/Eva thing!

Imelda Staunton!

wigglesrock · 22/04/2017 09:40

Not for me - am afraid it's lumped into the nun names along with Concepta, Assumpta and those that liked to think patent shoes were the work of the devil.

NannyR · 22/04/2017 09:47

My first thought was Imelda May, not Marcos. I think it's a great name.

SuperBeagle · 22/04/2017 10:16

I don't like it at all. It sounds like something you'd hear in Harry Potter.

Sabistick · 22/04/2017 10:57

I love it. Only known one Imelda who was everything i wanted my dds to be. Funny, clever, responsible, well liked, an all round good'un.
