Also "chavvy"

Imaginingdragonsagain · 21/04/2017 22:38

I know a Brooke, she's a gorgeous girl. Lovely name.

Buntysoven · 21/04/2017 22:42

Does anyone else eyeroll when the c word gets used? Brooke is not my personal cup of tea but I wouldnt think badly of it and it is NOT that awful c word

FeedTheSharkAndItWIllBite · 21/04/2017 22:55

Bunty when I first read "the c word" I thought of an entirely different one. Oops... Blush

Anyhow, I agree. Brooke is a perfectly fine name. I don't particularly like it... But there's nothing wrong with it.

FreeNiki · 21/04/2017 23:37

Orange is the New Black is fairly popular now and immediately thought of the character Brook Soso.

It's an ok name.

Joeybee · 21/04/2017 23:41

I really like Brooke. It is a bit 'American', but it's a cool, strong, feminine name. For me I also think of the tranquility, perseverance and peace of a brook (stream) aswell, which is a nice association. If you like it, I say go for it. It's a well known, but not overly popular name, there probably wouldn't be another Brooke in her class.

RainbowsAndUnicorns23 · 21/04/2017 23:54

I really like that name!

If you like it, go with it!

Pallisers · 21/04/2017 23:58

I would think:

Pretty
American (I live in US)
Waspy US
But becoming non-waspy pretty fast.

If you like it use it - it is a perfectly normal name and very easy to pronounce. And it really is a lovely sounding/looking name.

LobsterQuadrille · 22/04/2017 00:02

Very American. It's not unpleasant in any way but not terribly appealing either; sorry. It's quite a hard sounding name - again, not a bad thing. Any other options? I know three triplets: Brooke, Skye and one I can't recall.

Gooseysgirl · 22/04/2017 00:08

It's ok, I don't love it to be honest. It's a bit harsh sounding.

joannegrady90 · 22/04/2017 00:18

I have a Brooke she's 8 and I still love the name 😊

Miss calling her baby Brooke

RedastheRose · 22/04/2017 00:48

Lovely name, go for it.

Mrsknackered · 22/04/2017 11:16

I like it a lot. It's not 'chavvy'
My DstepSis is Brooke

SuperBeagle · 22/04/2017 12:07

It also reminds me of One Tree Hill.

The Brooke in that was awesome, but I still don't like the name. It just seems a bit dated to me. It's the sort of name I would've given to a doll in the 90s because I thought it was the sort of name a cool, pretty etc. girl would have. But it's firmly cemented in pre-2000 America for me.
