I like it.

SuperBeagle · 20/04/2017 21:58

I don't like it.

It was popular where I am 10-15 years ago, so it seems quite dated (similar to Kayley etc). Plus the only Kelsey I know well is a complete brat, so I'm putt off the name.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 20/04/2017 22:10

Its a boys name, right? Like Kelsey Grammer, Frazier?

Its not my cup of tea, but why not?

SuperBeagle · 20/04/2017 22:14

Not in modern usage, no.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 20/04/2017 22:38

I love Kelsey, for a girl only.

User2468 · 20/04/2017 22:40

No, hate it as a girls name and not keen for boys either

BradleysSister · 20/04/2017 22:42

Yes, for a girl Smile

It seems very dated to me. Very eighties, like Kayleigh. I don't like it much either.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 20/04/2017 23:17

No sorry. Its in the same league as
Chelsea
Courtney. What my dsis was going to call my 2cd nephew. If he were a girl. I leapt 10 foot in the air. When I found out it was another boy.
I didn't fancy shouting "Courtney" around The Asda.Grin

Sophronia · 20/04/2017 23:49

Not keen, sorry.

Singingforsanity · 21/04/2017 00:11

Sorry, I'm not a fan either, but it's not offensive in any way, and I don't think it would attract ridicule or anything so it's all just down to opinion and yours is the important one here. If this is the one you feel is right, go for it!

TSSDNCOP · 21/04/2017 00:17

It's the name of one of the nicest teens I know.

Catherinebee85 · 21/04/2017 00:22

I associate it with things like Chelsea, Courtney, Kayleigh, etc and it feels chavvy to me

GaladrielsRing · 21/04/2017 00:35

I really like it. Also love Keeley.

I'm from Dagenham, city of 'chavs' (apparently) and have never met one Wink

ExplodedCloud · 21/04/2017 00:40

Wasn't there one in Casualty some years ago? She annoyed me. I do realise that might not be a reason to not use it Blush

AbernathysFringe · 21/04/2017 00:48

First thought is Frasier. Second thought is it sounds made up/chavvy and very like Chelsea. Will be shortened to 'Kel' so might as well be Kelly. Kelsey does sound dated too.

mathanxiety · 21/04/2017 04:53

I really dislike it.

A bunch of people I know who are Irish-American have daughters named Kelsey and they are convinced it's an Irish name. So I therefore associate it with people who don't know what they're talking about.

I place it in a category with Kaitlyn/Caitlyn, Megan and all other faux Irish names.

candlelit35 · 21/04/2017 04:55

Love this name.

PollytheDolly · 21/04/2017 05:06

That's my name.Grin

Early 70's child. It's not Irish but it means "from the ship's island" so the Americans have got their wires crossed there.

When I was young I was the only person in the world with that name. Or so it felt!

I love it though but get annoyed when people say Chelsea instead. Ugh!

Gets shortened to Kels a lot. I don't do that though.

picklemepopcorn · 21/04/2017 05:34

Not keen. Sorry. But it's different in different countries. I'm in uk.

MrsGsnow18 · 21/04/2017 06:10

I assumed it was for a boy at first because I've only heard it used as Kelsey Grammar's name.
I quite like it though, I've never met one!

chipsnmayo · 21/04/2017 07:24

It's a bit dated to the 90s to me, all the ones I have known (boys and girls) are well into their teens..

That said, I do like the name.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 21/04/2017 07:26

Sorry not keen, sounds very 80s/90s to me along with Kelly, Kaley, Keeley etc

PegLegAntoine · 21/04/2017 07:27

It's a park to me (I grew up in Beckenham). A lovely park mind you, but I don't like it as a name personally

Chavelita · 21/04/2017 07:28

What mathanxiety said. Don't start me on the faux-Irish name with a side order of Begorra.
