Ditch the hyphen and Mae.

Reow · 09/04/2017 13:42

Dulcie is nice.

Sick to death of May Mae Mai.

Gallavich · 09/04/2017 13:43

Just Dulcie. Anything -Mae is naff as fuck.

MN - telling it like it is Grin

Dreadful. I think every young woman with a hyphenated May/Mae name is going to drop the second part of their name as soon as they realise how common it makes them sound.

FanaticalFox · 09/04/2017 13:52

Right thanks for all the feedback. Going to probably go for Dulcie only and Mae as a middle name. Thanks all!

Good work OP. Dulcie is better as a standalone name.

TurquoiseDress · 09/04/2017 14:47

Dulcie-Mae for me, personally, is an absolute no way.

A name like that is just far too twee for me.

There are hoards of young girls out there called something-Mae.

however, the name Dulcie on its own is quite sweet

Bananasandchocolatecustard · 09/04/2017 14:57

Dulcie is ok as a name. IMO Mae is a common name when hyphenated with another name.

Foncy87 · 09/04/2017 19:45

I work with children and this is a very popular name, well Dolcie-Mae and Dulce-Mae! If your not bothered about other children having the same name in her class then go for it if you like it!

ChippieFishieHorshie · 09/04/2017 21:12

I really don't like Dulcie (imo twee and popular) and I dislike the hyphen...

I actually do like May/Mae. Mae Dulcie would be nice.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 09/04/2017 21:17

I don't like hyphenated names due them looking indecisive and cutesy. May/Mae/Mai is very overused. Dulcie is sugary (like dulce de leche) and at the same time really ugly sounding.

Sorry.

CotswoldStrife · 09/04/2017 21:20

Well done for changing the plan there OP, I think they work better as separate names.

ShoutOutToMyEx · 09/04/2017 21:21

I know a Dulcie-May.

I like Dulcie on its own, I think it's pretty enough.

FanaticalFox · 09/04/2017 22:55

Thank you all

Mummamayhem · 09/04/2017 22:58

I like May but that doesn't really help.

Ohyesiam · 09/04/2017 23:11

Lot and lots of hyphen Mae's round where I live.

2014newme · 09/04/2017 23:18

Ew! 😕
