Yes. I'm a C. My sister is a C. My mother is a C. Didn't cause any issues. Didn't even really register it.

I wouldn't do it deliberately but I don't think it's a big issue, especially if the names sound very different otherwise like Henry and Hugo. I'd avoid something like Henry and Harry, Henry and Harvey or Henry and Humphrey though - they do feel a bit too close.

Each having a different initial was definitely something I was insistent on, but it doesn't seem to bother many folk.
I have 3 (older) dc now and loads of situations occur where you just jot an initial down, long before you get on to the issues of post, etc.
Seems to me there are hundreds of names out there, so why complicate things unnecessarily.

Yes it's fine. I don't think the post thing will be as big an issue in the future as more and more things are done online.

I know brothers named Henry and Hugo! The Hugo came first though.

I personally wouldn't, but there's nothing wrong with it.

I've got the same first initial as my sister and my dds have the same first initial too.

Yeah that's fine, me and my 2 siblings all have J names and that was never an issue or source of ridicule. Hugo is a lovely name too.

Different experience here, I and another sibling had the same initials as a parent i.e. Two S Smiths, and two D Smiths in the household. As late teens and adults, even with different second initials, it has caused beaurocracy fuck ups where computers or staff in a hurry decided there were obviously only two people not four, or it was one person who had moved house rather than two people at two different addresses (AA and British Gas I'm looking at you) and merged accounts. It still happens often enough and has caused enough minor issues that we're careful about not using the same banks.

Yes of course. I don't get all this fuss about them needing different initials. It's a total non issue as far as I'm concerned.

I have a son whose name begins with C and expecting our second who will also begin with C. Our daughter does have a different initial though.

Although don't do what Simon Gregson off of Corrie has done and have a Harry and a Henry as they're basically the same name...

Henry and Hugo is gorgeous.

My cousin has a Lucy and a Lucas. So they have the same guest theee letters, never mind just the same initi! It's like the 'his and hers' of the same name.

Agreed. I know siblings called Henry and Harry! Mother was nonplussed when told that her children had the same name.

I really wanted another L name for our second baby but just can't find one we like enough! Henry and Hugo sound really lovely together, their names will be said together many times and they flow really well being the same letter.

Timely for me as I have a Nell and want a Noa or Noah...a close friend has Jake, Jesse and Jocely which seems a bit much. I can't decide whether two is OTT or not.
