We like names that are a bit different but not completely unheard of so far we have -

Girls -
Meadow

Lux
James (DH choice Hmm)

Boys-
Wilf(red) - Not different but I like it
August

I know they aren't to everyone's taste but does anyone have anymore suggestions??

My favourites are Lux and August

Rex is nice and August is gorgeous. I really think you need look no further for boy's names Smile.

I like unusual names, but really, really don't like Lux. It's just a sound I don't find very pretty at all and it reminds me of packaging "de lux version", or the word 'lush' as in someone who likes a drink / stupid word some people use to describe delicious food!

Meadow and Ocean are alright, but, if I were choosing a slightly unusual, nature inspired girl's name, I absolutely love Star, Rain and Wren. I like River for a boy.

Please don't call a girl Finley or Micah, as suggested above.

Finley is from Gaelic words meaning fair-haired warrior. Yes, I know girls can be warriors now and sometimes were in the past, but being an elite warrior was a male occupation at the time the name was coined.

Micah is an Old Testament prophet (honoured also in Islamic and Christian traditions); linguistically, the name is closely related to Michael.

Ok so isadora and summer?

I think of you already have a season name you can't have another..

Gus is lovely for a boy - you could go longer and have Angus too

If you like 'round' girls names then how about Heidi, arwen, Lorna, rose, una, blossom, Hollie, Juno,

Please not meadow!!

Sunshineandlaughter · 01/04/2017 04:11

Oh and I'd use Orianna rather than ocean!

Railgunner1 · 01/04/2017 06:56

Love August!
