Love Georgina, nn George. Masculine nicknames from girly names are my favourite.

MaroonPencil · 24/03/2017 14:49

Georgina.

Dipsydora · 24/03/2017 20:54

Jemima and felicity are very feminine I like Jemima best. They are girly names.
Georgina seems more masculine somehow , probably just me and the fact I know at least 5 my age all going by George or Georgie.

So depends what style you like really.

crapfatbanana · 24/03/2017 22:54

Georgina by a mile.

EweAreHere · 24/03/2017 22:57

Felicity

Kazzawazza69 · 24/03/2017 23:04

Felicity

DramaAlpaca · 24/03/2017 23:06

Georgina

Joeybee · 25/03/2017 04:52

Jemima...its a personal opinion, but the other two names just sound like bitchy girls to me.

coffeetasteslikeshit · 25/03/2017 04:54

I wanted Georgia if I'd had a girl. Love it and would shorten it to George.

Wishfulmakeupping · 26/03/2017 23:29

I like Georgina best but as others have said prefer Georgia.
Felicity is nice I know a couple who get called Flick and Fliss.
Jemima is ok but I'd be wary if you have any family in US as it can have racist connotations

Ojoj1974 · 26/03/2017 23:32

All divine!
I love the abbreviations too
Georgina - Gina
Felicity- flick
Jemima- not too sure what I might shorten it to.

Beautiful name s

finova · 26/03/2017 23:55

Felicity

MadameJosephine · 27/03/2017 00:02

Love Felicity (prefer Lissy as nn)

Georgina is ok

Really don't like Jemima, it's too much of a little girls name for me, somehow it doesn't suit a teenager or adult

BasicBetty · 27/03/2017 16:58

Georgina definitely.
Felicity is ok, but not at all keen on Jemima.

Marcipex · 27/03/2017 19:18

Felicity.
Then Georgina , because I like Georgie.

Not keen on Jemima.

Mrsknackered · 27/03/2017 19:48

Georgina truly is a fantastic name.
I know an adult Jemima and it really doesn't suit her and I don't know why but I really don't like Felicity.

Mrsknackered · 27/03/2017 19:49

Meant to say, Jemima doesn't suit her as an adult.

Mrsknackered · 27/03/2017 19:50

My bestfriend Georgina is called George by her parents and siblings and Gi/Gigi by all of her friends.

JudgeJudySheidlin · 27/03/2017 20:51

Not keen on any of the names. Jemima was a doll on playschool which shows my age. Georgina is possibly the least unlikeable name, however it was quite a popular name when I was growing up & I know of a few Georgina's who were complete cows. Felicity ..... it's a name that sets my teeth on edge. It's just the sound that really bothers me.

I've rambled on with my load of old cobblers but you did ask for opinions & this happens to be mine. Whatever you name your child will be perfect for you & the babySmile

Shesaysso · 27/03/2017 20:58

I think Jemima has got quite negative connotations in the USA - don't know whether anyone American can confirm this. If it is the case it may not travel well. See below

Not popular in the United States thanks to Aunt Jemima (a brand of breakfast foods introduced in the late 1880s). The character of Aunt Jemima was based on a stereotypical “mammy”-like southern kerchief-wearing house servant, and the food brand featured distasteful slogans such as “I’s in town, Honey!” For obvious reasons, African-Americans have been highly offended by the reinforcement of these minstrel (i.e., “black face”) type vaudevillian characters, and over time the Aunt Jemima character has been recreated by the Quaker Oats Company into a middle-class Black woman with pearl earrings and a natural afro. Still, in the United States, Jemima is a name forever associated with racism and as a result is never used. Because Jemima doesn’t carry the same negative connotations in England as it does in America, it is actually quite familiar in Britain. It’s the name of a Beatrix Potter character (Jemima Puddle-Duck); the Pott’s family daughter in Ian Fleming’s children’s book “Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang”, and a principal character (kitten) from British composer Andrew Lloyd Weber’s musical “Cats”. Interestingly, when “Cats” came to Broadway from London, the character of Jemima was changed to “Syllabub” due to the American audience’s natural aversion to the name Jemima (again owing to Aunt Jemima). Again, Jemima’s off-putting legacy is distinct to the United States. Everywhere else, this is a perfectly acceptable, old ancient Biblical name with a pleasant etymology. It’s currently a Top 200 name in England. Go figure.

Jemima is lovely
Georgina is OK (but will be George, Georgie or Gina) and I'm not keen on Felicity.

heateallthebuns · 27/03/2017 22:59

Georgina or jemima

crumble82 · 27/03/2017 23:02

I love Felicity (nn Lissy)

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 28/03/2017 14:02

Georgina but I prefer Georgiana or Georgia.

Practicalpam · 28/03/2017 14:13

Like all of them but Felicity is probably my favourite. Was one at my school who was shortened to Lit.
