Either for a boy or a girl, what are your favourite baby names beginning with D?

I'm more of a fan of traditional names but would love to hear any suggestions!

Dinah or Deborah for a girl. Dominic or Diego for a boy.

I know a little girl known as Dolly, but her full name is Dorothea.

Also like Daphne and Dinah.

For boys, David is very solid. Must say, having read the Red Rising trilogy, my first thought was "Darrow" for a boy - which I quite like even though I'm not a fan of "surnames for boys first names". (Plus he would spend a lifetime explaining that he's not called Darren)

InvisibleKittenAttack · 20/03/2017 20:23

Although OP - why D?

1horatio · 20/03/2017 20:46

Daphne, Dana, Danah, Davina, Dora.
My favourite is probably Danah. Or maybe Daphne, not sure :)

Dean, David, Derrick, Davi.

OneSecondAfter · 20/03/2017 21:53

Dylan, Dominic, Dexter

Girls, no idea. I just checked the ONS list and there are only about 3 girls names in the top 300 that begin with D. All horrible too. I don't like any of the ones listed in this thread either. God, I hope I never have a daughter and some random reason that I MUST give her a name that starts with D.

Dorothea
Delmy
David
Darklis
Dougal

ProfessorPickles · 20/03/2017 22:16

I was just asking for D names because my surname begins with a D! Sometimes I think names sound really good like that but none are working because I have a crap surname Grin

Rachel Riley is a good example, there's better examples but I can't think!

I once knew a Darian. Always rather liked his name.

Daniel and David are my faves though. Forever sad that I didn't have twin boys.

Dorothy (Dolly for short) and Daisy for girls.

I love Delia. DH vetoed it on the grounds of it reminding him not just of Delia Smith but specifically her drunkenly ranting "let's be having it" at the Norwich ground
