..... for a boy.

OP posts:

Penis.

Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin was nicknamed Percy because the tight pants he wore showed a certain something.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 18/03/2017 20:40

Byron had had sex with a dog, or the tour guide had? Because I'm not convinced that the latter was relevant to the tour.

user1489577919 · 18/03/2017 20:55

Tour guide told us that Byron had sex with a dog! Thing is... I can't find any evidence to agree, maybe she was feeling bored that day

OP for the record I don't like Percy as is but I think Percival is nice

mrsBeverleygoldberg · 18/03/2017 20:58

Blackadder.

BaymaxismyHero · 18/03/2017 21:00

Awful

cauliwobbles · 18/03/2017 21:01

Point Percy at the Porcelain!! 😬

Grumpbum · 18/03/2017 21:01

I loved it for #2 until, when potty training my Mum started asking #1 if he needed a Percy poo

Bibs2014 · 18/03/2017 21:03

Hate it

lazydog · 18/03/2017 21:25

I wonder where the idea that it sounds weak comes from?

Probably largely via Tim McInnerny's character in Blackadder Grin

TheHiphopopotamus · 18/03/2017 23:21

Grin Just did a snort at that.

crapfatbanana · 18/03/2017 23:32

I like it.

Joeybee · 18/03/2017 23:32

Really like Percy. It's gentle but it's masculine. I can imagine it growing with someone too. People tend to think it's dated and dislike it...which for me makes it all the better.

MissJC · 19/03/2017 00:03

Just makes me think of Percy Whetmore out of Stephen Kings Green Mile. He didn't wet the sponge Confused

reuset · 19/03/2017 00:21

I prefer it for a girl actually, short for Persephone, though spelling more like Persie...

Percy Jackson is positive association, but my 'worry' (this is at least the second time in a week Percy has been mentioned! Shock) is that it might date, if it becomes popular again and is short lived

Percival only if you're landed gentry and it's a family name, and even then it's not good.

reuset · 19/03/2017 00:24

I'd forgotten about the penis connection. And there's the Ralph thread somewhere, what's going on Grin

Destinysdaughter · 19/03/2017 00:26

Good...for a budgie!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/03/2017 00:52

I think its adorable.
I picture a very polite and well behaved little boy with red hair and glasses.

lazydog · 19/03/2017 00:56

Destinysdaughter: "Good...for a budgie!"

When my DH was a little boy he had a budgie called Percy. I didn't realise it was a stereotypical budgie name! Grin

MiniMaxi · 19/03/2017 03:01

Definitely Blackadder for me!

Topseyt · 19/03/2017 03:16

When I was growing up in the seventies and early eighties all of the boys seemed to refer to their willies as Percy.

For that reason alone I wouldn't use it, even if I did like it.

RustyBear · 19/03/2017 09:40

Of course, on the plus side, there's Sir Percy Blakeney - the Scarlet Pimpernel. Definitely not weak, though he pretended to be!

NormaSmuff · 19/03/2017 09:49

over riding memory of Percy the Park Keeper Smile

thethoughtfox · 19/03/2017 10:00

Lord Percy the thick dopey one from Blackadder

Lemondrop09 · 19/03/2017 10:42

I prefer Percival

buttercup54321 · 20/03/2017 00:23

Terrible. Really bad.
