Girls name - stuck!

Satsumadreams99 · 14/03/2017 15:01

So baby no 3 has no name yet... she has two big brothers with traditional names. I like our shortlist as they all have grown up versions as well as the cute 'ie' names.

Shortlist is:

Katie
Gracie
Georgie
Rosie

Would Georgie sound like we have 3rd boy? Is Rosie too girly? Will Katie just remind me of Katie Hopkins/Price? Is Grace on its own too harsh sounding?

Help!

How about Katharine, Georgina or Rose?

Satsumadreams99 · 14/03/2017 15:08

So the full names would be

Kate
Grace
Georgia
Rose

I just can't decide between them!

Grace Rose is nice

GeekGoddess · 14/03/2017 15:10

I love Rose Smile, with Grace a close second. They are all nice op, although Georgia is my least favourite.

Congratulations!

heateallthebuns · 14/03/2017 15:12

All nice but I'd go Georgina for full name of Georgie.

TeenAndTween · 14/03/2017 15:12

I would give the longer 'full' version as suggested above Katherine, Georgina / Georgiana, Rosemary, etc (unless you really don't like it) and then you can use either shortening.

Pallisers · 14/03/2017 15:14

They are all lovely - like your long versions too. I am not a fan of shortened names as the full name but I think Kate has actually jumped the barrier into a name of its own. Although I would use Georgiana instead of Georgia but that would be because it would be a chance to give a nod to Jane Austen

I'd probably chose Rose myself but all 4 are lovely.

TeenAndTween · 14/03/2017 15:17

If your boys are William and Henry, then don't choose Kate!

Grace/Gracie or
Rose/Rosie

I like them all, but those are the best IMO

BaymaxismyHero · 14/03/2017 16:27

Rose wins my vote

Satsumadreams99 · 14/03/2017 16:39

Thanks all - I do think Rose/Rosie is one of my favourites but, and this may be irrelevant but dd has dark hair and olive skin so would Rosie perhaps not suit???

ChippieBeanAndHorro · 14/03/2017 16:43

I really like Georgia and Rose. :)

I don't think Grace would be a nice middle name for a girl called Rose (or vice versa, tbh)

ChippieBeanAndHorro · 14/03/2017 16:44

Dark hair and olive skin... Why wouldn't it suit her?

I'm not sure I understand the concern, tbh. Rose is a lovely name and I don't think somebody needs to look a certain way to suit it.

Satsumadreams99 · 14/03/2017 16:46

I guess I envisioned a Rosie to have fair hair and rosy cheeks!

RoseAndRose · 14/03/2017 16:48

You could try the South American version, Rosita.

Blossomdeary · 14/03/2017 16:48

Grace and Rosie - definitely nothing that sounds as if you had expected a boy.

Pancaker · 14/03/2017 16:49

Francesca - Frankie?

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 14/03/2017 16:51

I love the name Rose.

She can still be a Rosie with a dark complexion Smile

ChippieBeanAndHorro · 14/03/2017 16:55

I think Rose is a gorgeous name that would suit everybody :)

But you could go for Rosa, Rosina or Rosalia, I guess?

I personally like Rose and Rosalia.

Sophronia · 14/03/2017 17:35

Rose

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/03/2017 18:02

Rose/Rosie

Susiethetortoiseshellcat · 14/03/2017 18:18

I love both Rose and Rosie. Don't think it matters about complexion.

Sofiatheworst · 14/03/2017 18:49

I think Georgia is one of the most beautiful names there is. Feminine but strong. I like Kate too, the other too are a bit too little girlie for my liking (even the longer versions) Smile

MollyHuaCha · 14/03/2017 18:58

I like Katherine - then she can be Katie or Kate or even stay as Katherine which is lovely.
