Jay is different name. Not same as Jae.

Thanks much Smile

Sam.

AssassinatedBeauty · 14/02/2017 18:23

How are you pronouncing Jae? Is it to rhyme with "tie"?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/02/2017 18:23

Is it pronounced Jie then?

MrandMrsW2005 · 14/02/2017 18:25

No

OP posts:
insancerre · 14/02/2017 18:25

Of to rhyme with sea
gee?

AssassinatedBeauty · 14/02/2017 18:26

Can you explain how you would pronounce Jae?

NickyEds · 14/02/2017 18:26

How it pronounced? It's hard to say of it's a nice name without knowing how it sounds!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/02/2017 18:26

Well then it's not a different name Confused

Gallavich · 14/02/2017 18:28

Sam. WTF is Jae? It's awful.

Sparklingbrook · 14/02/2017 18:29

If the child is named 'Jae' nobody ever would think to spell it that way. He would be forever 'Jay' until people were corrected.

MrandMrsW2005 · 14/02/2017 18:29

It is different name. They said same I think. Different names as don't use Jay where from. Sorry hard to explain.

Are you Korean? Jae is fine. Lots of them around our area.

SweepTheHalls · 14/02/2017 19:03

Sam

MrandMrsW2005 · 14/02/2017 19:06

Yes Korean Smile

OP posts:
RedSauce · 14/02/2017 19:17

Sam.

OnHold · 14/02/2017 19:18

Then use Jae. MN is full of little Englanders who have a fit of the vapours at a forrin name.

Hopefully you move in less racist circles in RL.

AfroPuffs · 14/02/2017 19:24

Calm down onhold

If OP had said she was Korean in her first post, then nobody would have batted an eyelid.

Finola1step · 14/02/2017 19:27

I read Jae as an alternative way of spelling Jay. Is that alright by you Onhold or do you have anymore conclusions to jump to?

OnHold · 14/02/2017 19:36

I don't jump to the conclusion that every poster on MN is a nice MC British person.

Unlike some...

peachypips · 14/02/2017 19:42

Jae. There are four Sams in DS1's class and two in DS2's class. Funnily enough these two have the same surname too- very confusing!

mainlywingingit · 14/02/2017 19:42

Sam

LosingDory · 14/02/2017 19:47

Since it's a British website it's actually a pretty fair assumption to make that it might be...it doesn't make people racist for not immediately thinking "that's a Korean name"

sonlypuppyfat · 14/02/2017 19:49

There would be no such thread as this if we were all afraid to voice our opinion in case it's a foreign name

crapfatbanana · 14/02/2017 19:53

Use a Korean name if you're Korean Smile.
