Opinions on the name Griffin?

KlingybunFistelvase · 14/02/2017 16:00

I like it!

Jooni · 14/02/2017 18:06

I like it a lot, and know a little 18m old one who really suits it. I love Griff for short.

CactusFred · 14/02/2017 18:09

I love it.

This was my no1 choice all through my pregnancy but DH hated it and despite me hoping he'd come round he never did Angry

Go for it!

Sparklingbrook · 14/02/2017 18:11

It's a no from me.

reuset · 14/02/2017 18:54

Not really my taste but it's ok

bottlegreen · 14/02/2017 18:56

A very Welsh vibe... I like it!

DearMrDilkington · 14/02/2017 18:57

Peter griffin is the first thing that springs to mind.

Not a fan.

GeillisTheWitch · 14/02/2017 19:06

Fat guy from Family Guy.

MrsHughesCarson · 14/02/2017 19:08

As long as your surname isn't Daw.

EggsEleven · 14/02/2017 19:11

I like it. I think i prefer the spelling Gryffin though would probably have to spend a lifetime explaining how to spell it. Love Griff as a nn.

Popskipiekin · 14/02/2017 19:24

We well I did, DH thought I'd lost my marbles thought about this for DS2. We were actually going to use Fin(n) as a nn. What about other rather mystical/creature names - Peregrine, Merlin, Oberon...

Waterfeature · 14/02/2017 19:26

Reminds me of a 70s bike, a Grifter. I don't like. Sorry.

CoffeeDiamonds · 14/02/2017 19:37

Love love love love love!

Juveniledelinquent · 14/02/2017 19:42

Sorry, I don't like it at all.

sonlypuppyfat · 14/02/2017 19:53

Yes it's nice, works well for a man as well as a baby

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/02/2017 20:13

Sorry, it's a no, from me.

SuperBeagle · 14/02/2017 20:21

I like it, but prefer the spelling Gryffin. I don't think it'd be misspelt any more than Griffin, as the Gryffindor association is very strong.

Fackorf · 14/02/2017 20:23

Makes me think of ex-BNP leaders.

RuthB4 · 14/02/2017 20:49

Sorry, really don't like it but if you both love it then go for it!

TheMysteriousJackelope · 14/02/2017 20:53

I am not sure about it because it reminds me of the mythical beast.

Apart from that it is fine as a name.

BelafonteRavenclaw · 14/02/2017 20:54

DS2 has a Welsh name that shortens to Griff, its a great name. I'm also a teacher and I've only taught one Griff/Griffin (and I teach in Wales). If you like it go for it.

MikeUniformMike · 14/02/2017 21:02

Griff. Griffin. Great choice.

tygr · 14/02/2017 21:03

I had a cat called Gruffyn (pronounced Griffin, Welsh spelling). Lovely name. I probably couldn't use it for a child now...

NapQueen · 14/02/2017 21:04

We wanted Griff/Griffin for ds but then it clicked....with a dd naned Meg we couldnt then have a Griffin. Grrrr

MikeUniformMike · 14/02/2017 21:09

Why not, Nap?
