I like it a lot, and know a little 18m old one who really suits it. I love Griff for short.

I like it. I think i prefer the spelling Gryffin though would probably have to spend a lifetime explaining how to spell it. Love Griff as a nn.

We well I did, DH thought I'd lost my marbles thought about this for DS2. We were actually going to use Fin(n) as a nn. What about other rather mystical/creature names - Peregrine, Merlin, Oberon...

I like it, but prefer the spelling Gryffin. I don't think it'd be misspelt any more than Griffin, as the Gryffindor association is very strong.

DS2 has a Welsh name that shortens to Griff, its a great name. I'm also a teacher and I've only taught one Griff/Griffin (and I teach in Wales). If you like it go for it.

I had a cat called Gruffyn (pronounced Griffin, Welsh spelling). Lovely name. I probably couldn't use it for a child now...

We wanted Griff/Griffin for ds but then it clicked....with a dd naned Meg we couldnt then have a Griffin. Grrrr
