Rosalind or Rosemary are lovely.
Rosabel less so.

HoratioNightboy · 01/02/2017 15:01

It was my grandmother's name. It's very Victorian sounding, but quite pretty I think. Sounds like a lot of posters have never heard of it before.

Gallavich · 01/02/2017 15:11

Bleurgh

MsGameandWatch · 01/02/2017 16:12

Sounds like a "Walking 'n' Talking" doll from the 70's.

howtheheckdoidealwiththis · 01/02/2017 20:47

I really like it too!

MrsNuckyThompson · 01/02/2017 20:50

I don't like made up sounding names and therefore think this just sounds daft. Soz.

SerialReJoiner · 01/02/2017 20:52

I like it so much I used it.

busyrascal · 01/02/2017 20:53

I think I would spell it Rosabelle.

AuntieStella · 01/02/2017 20:59

My mother has a cousin (in her 80s) who is a Rosabel (pronounced Roz-a-bel). I've always thought it's a lovely name.

Brollsdolls · 01/02/2017 22:28

I know a Rosabella

mainlywingingit · 02/02/2017 00:00

No sorry. Hate made up names

claptomania · 02/02/2017 00:10

I immediately thought 'Babybel' - sorry!

WhenLoveAndCakeCollide · 02/02/2017 11:23

Beautiful name.

I get the impression some people think it's a modern made-up name. It isn't. I found three women named Rosabel in my family tree, the one furthest back being born in the late 18th century.

People suggesting Isabel as an alternative, but how is Rosabel 'bad' and Isabel okay, both are genuine names?! I much before Rosabel, as Isabel/le (and Isabella) are overdone.

theconstantinoplegardener · 02/02/2017 11:27

I think it's very pretty!

KlingybunFistelvase · 02/02/2017 11:44

I don't think it's a modern, made up name. I just don't like it. Sorry, to those who have used it or have family members with that name! Just personal taste and all that. I'm sure some people wouldn't like my DD's name either!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/02/2017 13:21

It's VERY girly. I know a Rosemara, which packs a bit more of a punch? It's fine though. Reminds me of Elizabelle.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 02/02/2017 18:39

Roseanne?

Billynoname · 03/02/2017 03:31

I actually think it's lovely. It's an established name and i donNt see how it's any girlier than the hoards of Evie / Poppy / Lottie / Milly / Tilly 's around! Xx

TheDowagerCuntess · 03/02/2017 03:40

In the words of Marian Keyes, it feels a bit cobbled together. Not saying it is, it just feels it.

Rosaria?

Jaagojaago · 03/02/2017 11:54

Doesn't sound like an actual name but rather a made up tweeness

Jaagojaago · 03/02/2017 11:55

And yes I appreciate it's an actual name.
