Definitely Noah. I know soooo many Alexander's yawn

CPtart · 29/01/2017 19:55

Alexander. Far more classy and timeless. Noah sounds like a strained protest.

Alexander

I have an Alex. There are so many in is school that they are referred to by their surnames (boys school!). Good friend called Noah.

When they were 7 ish (10 years ago) loads of tat had Alex on, but none with Noah. Now it's the other way round.

Alexander

Alexander (but I really don't like the nn Xander). If you won't be able to resist xander as a nn then id vote for Noah.

Alexander

Alexander-Noah very very overused in the midlands for context.

OvO · 30/01/2017 19:31

Alexander.

I have one. He's the only one in his school and we don't often hear it despite it being a top ten name here.

Uglycoyote · 30/01/2017 19:34

Alexander.

Alexander is much nicer. And has lots of nn options. Alex, Alec, Sandy, Xander. It also translates well and is easily pronounced in lots of languages.

Noah is ok. I'd say they are equally popular in England. One of each in my DDs class which seems typical of our area (NE)

LittleMouseontheDairy · 31/01/2017 20:49

Alexander, it's such a graceful yet strong name. I love it! (DS2 is Alexander so a bit biased..)
I'm in the SE and he's actually the only other Alexander I've come across so far in baby groups etc and the only one at his nursery. Lots of Joshuas! (Also really like Joshua so can see why.)

finova · 31/01/2017 21:04

I like both.
There are 3 Alexanders and 1 Noah in my child's year 1 class...and an Alexa!

NameChanger22 · 31/01/2017 21:05

Noah. Only because I know an Alexander who is horrible.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 31/01/2017 21:05

Alexander
