If Hettie was a nickname for Henrietta then i would go with that as I love it. I don't think Hettie should be the full name though

Otherwise I'd choose Ivy

I dislike Nancy

Doolallylally · 22/01/2017 17:25

Hettie. Ivy and Nancy make me think of very old ladies.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 22/01/2017 17:26

I love Nancy, very cool.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 22/01/2017 17:28

Ivy.

Hettie, to me, is a bit like a tizzy. "Ooo, she's in a right old hetty today."

Nancy is a horrible name.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/01/2017 17:30

Hettie, can also be a nick name for Hester.

BingThing · 22/01/2017 18:23

I prefer Ettie to Hettie. Loving Nancy, v cool x

Sapphireshadow · 22/01/2017 18:35

Ivy

Heratnumber7 · 22/01/2017 18:39

Ivy sounds like a Victorian scullery maid.
Hettie isn't a name, it's quite a nice nickname though.
I quite like Nancy.

Missyb15 · 22/01/2017 19:51

I'm not sure what Hettie is short for or whether you'd have it as Hettie on it's own but I think it's very cool, definitely my favourite of the 3

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 22/01/2017 19:53

Ivy

DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2017 21:34

Hettie if short for Henrietta or something similar.

Otherwise, Ivy.

I've never seen the appeal of Nancy.

Joeybee · 22/01/2017 22:32

I'm not a fan of 'Hettie' as a name in it's own right - I think as a nn for Harriet or Henrietta it's beautiful.
If not, then Ivy - Classic, simple and 'Vee' as a nn is cute.

BackforGood · 22/01/2017 22:44

To me, they are all horrible old lady names, which, I know means that they are very fashionable and popular at the moment Grin

I agree Hettie definitely sounds like it is a shortening or nickname

I have seen a lot of threads asking what people think of the name Ivy, so I'm presuming there are a LOT of Ivys been neamed this year.

Lugeeta · 22/01/2017 22:45

Ivy or Nancy, I don't like Hettie.

Chunder · 22/01/2017 23:24

I love Ivy. Nancy is nice. But Hettie (with a y) is a hoover.

greeeen · 22/01/2017 23:28

I like hettie as a nickname for Henrietta the best.

Sophronia · 22/01/2017 23:28

Ivy

Buntysoven · 23/01/2017 00:15

I have a Nancy so I'm biased. I dont5tbink its as old lady as others do.

BackforGood · 23/01/2017 00:30

I dont5tbink its as old lady as others do.

That'll be because you are a lot younger than me. Smile
It's a generational thing - the names that have been fashionable over the last 6 years or so, are names of my great Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents etc. People having babies now will be much younger than me, so won't have pictures in their minds of all the 'old ladies' these names remind me of.
I suspect some younger folk think that Margaret, Alan, Elizabeth, etc. are 'old people's names', then in 10 - 15 years folk will say the same about Susan, Debbie, Karen, etc.,,,, and so it will go on

Pluto30 · 23/01/2017 03:03

Ivy.

Hattie is nicer than Hettie.

Not a fan of Nancy. Nancy Spungeon always comes to mind.

Motherfuckers · 23/01/2017 03:56

I love Nancy! I hear Ivy all the time, it is really ugly sounding.

kelj2 · 23/01/2017 05:01

Ivy or Nancy

TeshiB · 23/01/2017 05:13

I love Nancy and Ivy is sweet.

Marcipex · 23/01/2017 05:22

Nancy.
I like Hattie better than Hettie. I'd use Harriet or Henrietta though.

I don't get the popularity of Ivy, it isn't even a nice plant.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/01/2017 05:31

Nancy. Love it.
